Abolish tipping.

If your business needs tips to pay your staff, you are not a business, you are a wellfare queen.

It's hard to articulate in words just how thoroughly and unequivocally the airport can fuck, in it's entirely, off.

It's a place that's perfectly designed to keep you just uncomfortable enough to be miserable but not uncomfortable enough to leave. Everything there is made to keep the human soul at 5% charge.

It's like if the concept of minimum viable product was a place.

So yeah, no tip.

It starts with just 18% tip, but next they’re going to want 18% tip and shaft.

Convenience Fee

That water bottle cost $6.49 as far as I'm concerned the convenience fee is built in.

This kind of shit is extra infuriating given the current wealth inequality. Half of American families face food insecurity ffs.

People are outraged once again by out-of-control tipping culture after an airport self-service checkout asked for an 18 percent tip.

The simplest explanation is that it is a default setting or the terminal was used in a different setting previously.

The tips are likely pooled so it won't raise alarm bells.

That wouldn't be newsworthy tho.

Americans like you who constantly justify this behaviour is why it is out of control... thank you for your sevice

Americans like you

???

Or…because it works. It increases profits. Some people for whatever reason, including accidents end up tipping the machine.

I mean, this guy was going to pay $28/gallon for water, what high horse is he falling off of?
