What about three ~14-16yr boys with no receivable costume aside from masks all carrying bus who show up at 9pm?
I don't care if you're four, fourteen, or forty; you can have all the damn candy you want.
As a kid who grew up tall (and therefore given weird like very early). 100%. These days, I don't even care if it's an adult trick or treating, and they're not wearing a costume. Let people have fun. Let people be kids.
Yeah, my last year I was 12 and around 5’9. I got some looks
Unless they are 'tricking' your house. Then they don't deserve candy.
Unfortunately made the experience that groups of boys take the "Trick" part as invitation for vandalism. So no candy for kids not accompanied by parents anymore.
Does it actually deter anyone?
Collective punishment because of a few bad apples that likely don't actually care about you hurting the rest of the kids?
Dude, you're the one who needs to grow up
I stopped being accompanied by parents in middle school. Obviously you're entitled to your rules, but that seems like a strange one.
You know, it's your candy and all, but you might have more to spare if you removed that bundle of stick candy that somehow got wedged way up inside your ass.
God damn are people irrationally angry at this.
Shitty kids will be shitty whether you hand out candy to older kids or not.
