A wise policy that should be emulated worldwide asap.
But don't you know?? One person out of a billion might abuse this policy. It's better to ensure everyone suffers until we're sure we can keep that from happening

Terrible news. Absolutely dogshit policy. This is a waste of capital if you goal is more energy generation and it benefits people rich enough to get solar panels at the expensive of poor people.
What happens is now you get rich people not paying for electricity except when they need it so running costs of grid infra are pushed onto poor people then there is a no sun and these people return to the grid to spike usage.
Better to build out a big solar project and spread the gains fairly.
More importantly it will help to electrify the country and reduce dependance on gas, which benefits everyone. Building solar farms won't help people install heat pumps.
The heat pump part is fine my criticism is of the solar panel loans which are fucking stupid.
If the government built their own solar panel farms, it doesn't fix the issue you described (no sun).
I don't understand how because 1 person moves to solar it's a negative for anyone else.
As the market moves to solar and wind, other generation duties will begin to focus on peak usage (ie no sun).
Eventually fuel powered generation will transition to energy capture and release for those periods.
Yes it does because its built as part of the national grid with the nessesary planning and thought. Unlike dumping all that money into inefficient solar panels hanging off peoples balconies
Is that /s, or would you mind explaining?
I did explain what part is not clear and I'll go more in depth
Only can get a good deal on clean coal and gas around here
