You don't want to know how many complaints I've had in co-op where my place looks like a landfill.
Same in real life lol, but at least my tools don't get broken, stolen, or used.
More like my wife.
Well how many gold/day/tile does your giant crystal from the museum generate huh?
I think I might be that guy, but I don’t play stardew. What am I supposed to do with all that stuff?
Its all crafting stuff and one picture frame. The game is supposed to be a cozy cottage core type farming sim and I'm gussing the joke is guys don't decorate just min max.
(You get the picture at the start)
Thats even worse lol. I'll be honest I'm this person. I'm even worse I didn't even talk to the town people. I probably would of went the JoJo mart route if my partner wasn't playing with me.
90% of my game play was the mines, fishing and watering the plants. I tried playing like the dev wanted you to and make friends and talk to people but god damn i dont have time to stalk them figure out what time they sleep, when and where they work, and their favorite food. I have a farm to run, watering the plants takes half the day and we still need rocks. If anyone needs me thats what the mail box is for.
And after beating the game I no longer have the ability to stomach fishing mini games.
That's what I love about the game though. You don't have to play it how the dev thinks it should be played. There are no deadlines or anything that HAS to be done. You can just do (or not do) whatever the hell you want. There's no wrong way.
In my last run I started to memorize a path to get to everybody and give them their favorite thing. I litterally had a spreadsheet with their favorite things.
So yes I min-maxed social interactions.
If I min max too much and have charts that's when it really feels like a chore to me. I enjoyed contributing occasionally and spotting people on my path or collecting gold star items but its generally not something I enjoy by myself. If I'm going to do it its going to be occasionally and in don't want to cheat myself out of the process. Usually the enjoyment of a game for me is the whole learning process of finding the perfect whatever, so googling the best way kind of cheats you out of the whole experience.
There's some games where I would argue that's different like deadlock where you practically have to study the game before you play your first match. Or Minecraft where something like speed running, redstone, or creative building is a learning tool or a form of skill expression/creative project where information is always evolving and adapting. I'm usually drawn more towards those types of games because there's essentially a infinite level of progression you can make and still never even reach the surface of what you could be if you where more knowledgeable/skilled.
Honestly, best thing I did was install mods that got rid of fishing, put all the folks on the mini map, and doubled the time of day. It's not really easier, but it's less tedious.
