fun fact toblerone is not swiss, it was, nowadays it is a an USA company masking as swiss

Not sure it matters that much, as the entire candy industry is operated by terrible companies. Is Mondelez International that much worse than Nestle or Unilever, for example?

I loathe Unilever for what they did to Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream.

Cunts.

As per USDA food regulations, hard pack ice cream can have up to 50% volume of air incorporated into it.

Before B&J's got bought out, you'd see maybe 10% (God knows I accidentally let enough pints melt over the years to see how much was in the container once I remembered - ahh.. shit! - that I'd left the ice cream to melt..) then after Unilever bought them, I did the same thing - forgot to get a bag with the ice cream out of the car in time - FUCK! - and opened it to discover that it was now down by at least a third in volume.

Oh hell no!

Not bought it since.

Fuck you, Unilever.

Though I can say that hatred makes sticking to diets easier. Doubly so when it's a hatred for the company combined with a hatred for the way they make chocolate.

If only my favourite ice cream wasn't made by an all round decent company cutting that out would be much easier.

Hmm decent ice cream company, lemmy.ca... Is the man a fine chap? (If that makes no sense, my guess is probably wrong)

One could say he's a chap man yes.

My favorite swiss chocolate is made by a company that is owned by a right wing pro lifer all out asshat

Ffs

I try to avoid them but they keep buying the small independent players

Just like Milka and that's why it has gone to shit.

Nooooooooo 😭

Ahh so that's why it tastes weird.

IIRC this is why they had to remove the Matterhorn from the packaging.

Edit: I remembered correctly.

Yup, unfortunately I love toblerone and had to give them up when I found out.

It’s Philadelphia cream cheese all over again!

That's just the Welsh spelling of it.

*shortened version, the original has 371 characters. Some of them are from a parallel universe.

That’s how I spell it from memory completely sober.

I made sure to buy a few "CERN" ones when i last went to CERN. They sell them there at their cafetaria.

What were you doing at cern?

I used to go there somewhat regularly due to working on parts of one of the LHC detectors, but mostly for conferences.

Part of CERN is open to public, they have a museum and do tours of the facility. I visited several years ago when I was traveling in Switzerland.

Things that don't happen when you get stoned

I've honestly done worse things when stoned. But I don't think you wanna hear them...
Everyone is different. Everyone's reaction is different, especially with cannabis, which is well-known for being very individual.
It affects me waaay more than it seems to affect different people my age. I still enjoy it, I just do really stupid shit under the influence.

I feel without any irony, that in controlled doses it's better at treating my ADHD than literally any other prescription I have tried

One could always tell when I'd be having a smoke binge..

My home would usually be as clean and as neat as it gets. Something about being baked that quiets my head and allows me to focus and I can and do go into cleaning mode.

Have all but quit over the past decade and the house is a wreck most of the time.

I miss getting baked.
