Nothing could go wrong if you spread an illness to dozens of kids who then interact with hundreds of kids who then interact with thousands of family members at home. Go to work and touch all the same surfaces as the other drivers before driving your very heavy bus.

remake of the butterfly effect but instead of his life going to shit it just keeps cutting to a board of red stock tickers.

Love how it comes down to "employer loses money" at the bottom lmao

This is the most important part

If a single person calling in has that big of an impact then it's the system that is the problem

have they tried having back-up drivers or substitute on-call drivers?

Big impact, big paycheck, right? ...Right?

Me at my old job listening to my boss talk about million dollar days while I'm being paid a little over minimum wage

Thankfully, with all the time they saved by using a slop poster, management will be able to handle staffing to ensure that one call-out doesn't have a disproportionate downwind effect. Managers may even need to do some of the work themselves.

Right?

i dunno what its like in a major metro, but of the places ive lived school bus drivers make jack shit, no benefits and the work obligations seem structured to prevent them from doing anything else, so it is almost like a seasonal, community volunteer job. like the whole enterprise rests on somebody's uncle who has a settlement that provides supplemental income and he has VA benefits so doesn't need healthcare.

but all the elementary schools need their own cop making 6 figures year round to practice chokeholds on kids.

I have a relative trying to get through the training for a bus driver because at least the district he'd be working through has alright pay and some benefits. But it's seemingly a months long process to start working and they don't have enough people to do training.

Drivers aren't responsible for the managers lack of planning and/or refusal to hire enough staff.

Any public facing job where a lack of people will cause issues (vs work just being delayed) should always have 30% more people scheduled than is actually necessary to do the job. Anything less is managerial incompetence.

For school bus drivers this either means having route plans with different numbers of routes so if someone calls out you switch from the 9 route plan to the 8 route plan, or paying people to be on-call. If you don’t want to do that, idk what to tell you that’s the fucking job, go be a cashier or something if you don’t want to do management.

That is a lot of words for "We don't hire enough people to cover our ass"

Managers frustrated that they have to manage.

Spooky, scary skeleton crews

Send shivers down your herniated disc

Shrieking managers will shock your soul

Seal your unemployment tonight

Make certain you are TOO sick to work!

Drivers out here rawdogging the air and licking doorknobs just to be sure.

damn maybe try having some on-call alternates

Imagine if we all just get each other sick constantly and work through it because it's better for the economy that way

I don't get paid enough to care, eat my ass.

Wouldn't an insurance company love to see this.

So you want your drivers to be infectious, half alert, with a multi ton large vehicle with lots of kids lives in the balance in often adverse weather?

Also hey parents to save costs we're allowing zombies to drive your kids now.

Because a Little Bus [Driver] Went Ka-Choo!

Hayloft reference?

I'd like to point this out to my haters, who are very much against my open mouth sneezing on them. You're welcome.

I hate AI posters I hate AI posters

The moment I see one at a business, I stop going there. There are even local art collectives that are using this format to advertise painting nights. Local restaurants keep doing it and would rather hallucinate food than photograph what they actually serve.

I was struggling through the traffic from an Octoberfest event yesterday. All of the sponsors had printed signs, I'd say 40% were that obvious AI slop shit where the image is way too busy.

Like this:

They're so busy, glossy, and always have a font that feels wrong for the context. I hate the emoji inclusion too. They either have the little bar at the bottom that's like "1.🎅value🎖2.💉entertainment🚂3.🏩social🐮4. experience😈" or it's the majority of the poster. Somehow they're worse than normal advertising because it's a simulacrum of a poster. That bug-ass hotdog is lying to me about a food that already lies to me about its nutritional value and origins.

They live is a documentary

Every documentary should have a 10 minute fight scene between two professional wrestlers. I don't care what the theme is- make them fight over it. That's their job.

I'm here for the Rhino in a floral print tho.
