Should have REAAAAALLY cracked my egg sooner doing that... Instead it took another 5.5 years and I get to start HRT at 23 instead of 17 😭... My friend's gf's dress was so nice... And the aspiring makeup artist who was deathly afraid of men to the point of being a shutin and not allowing men near her place somehow didn't have a problem seeing me specifically, to do my makeup - HUUUUUUUH...... IM AN IDIOT

Getting strangled in a crowd that did nothing about it certainly didn't help tho...

Republicans are going to start a war on Halloween if they see this

Already is. Evangelicals think halloween is heathen even though it was invented by the catholics. So they gather in the parking lots of their churches for "Trunk or Treat".

Being invented by Catholics makes it worse, not better. The Papists are not far down the extermination list.

Yeah, i wish more Catholics understood that.

Threatening Catholics with a crucifixion is just threatening them with a good time.

Damn, why can't my hair grow that fast 😭

Nobody said how long before or after!

yeah. I think the "after Halloween" is implied to be a good while

I always thought that cismen that went "For halloween, I'm going to dress as a girl!" was kinda weird.

Not as in "trans* people are weird" more the choice of something so banal for a special occasion. You can dress up as something fun, why not go for that? "I'm pretending to be the opposite gender! I'm dressed in clothes that are not socially expected of me". Aight. I'm dressed as a zombie or some weird post apocalyptic character.

Like, I get that some people are trans or want to dress as the opposite gender. I also get dressing as a woman on stage for a play , as a matriarch parody or something. But it's fucking halloween man, choose something cool. They aren't even dressing as a specific woman, just "me but girl".

The mental closet is a hell of a place to escape.

Don't scare me, I am about to dress up as Flowergirl from Blood on the Clocktower since we will do a run on halloween. I am already uncertain if that will offend someone. But in the end I just really like flowers and that character can wear a crown of flowers and hand out some 😅

I think you'll be fine in context... at least it's something specific

I don't understand, are you talking about the post, or just some men that you've met? The "On Halloween" picture doesn't look like "me but girl", it looks like a costume, just a costume for women. The one time I can remember seeing a cis dude cross dress for Halloween he was wearing a witch outfit, which I would put at the same level of fun as a zombie costume.

I guess you could be talking about guys just dressing in normal feminine street clothes, but then my guess would just be that they don't care about dressing up for Halloween so they did something low effort and then I would think your issue is more with the lack of care about Halloween. But even then they are doing something, so why would that be more weird than, say, not dressing up at all?

I guess I'm just not seeing the weird part.

but then my guess would just be that they don’t care about dressing up for Halloween so they did something low effort and then I would think your issue is more with the lack of care about Halloween.

this. one can dress however they want, whenever they want, especially at a university town, so what's the point in dressing bland for Halloween.

It's the mental closet. sucks for them to be in it. I am self aware enough to examine my own self for things like this, and there's no closets anywhere.

The mental closet is a hell of a place to escape.

It's not so much a closet thing. It's just one of the few days a year when societal expectations about how you should dress are loosened.

It’s just one of the few days a year when societal expectations about how you should dress are loosened.

I guess. Again, it's a bit more the transparant closeted, partaking in the activity but not partaking in it kinda thing. Like, I saw this at university, and it's just "ok, you put on a dress... and?". It's not "I'm Morrigan from Darkstalkers!" its "I have this cheap dress on".

I think there is also a mild impact stemming from powderpuff games. I knew they were in the U.S. but just saw they happen for some hockey games in Canada. Growing up many of those powderpuff games would occur in late October early November. Though stereotyping genders and what not has changed some throughout 90 years of powder puff history the idea that some girls would want to help guys dress up/do make up or guys help them with pads or whatever the underlying message of horny young people liking the idea spending time together with excuses to touch each other that aren't shamed by puritacal values has stayed similar.

With Halloween being a dress up day near it, it gives some the ability to do so for fun, and others the ability to ask said girl/boy to help them. Or the nerves to ask them to go as a group to a gathering.

I never actually saw anyone do that, but it doesn't seem that strange to me. Gender-bending fictional characters is a thing, why not real people?

What a cutie!!!!
