Americans be like "The way things are for me is that way things are everywhere! I shall never investigate if this is true or not! Time to post ragebait on the internet about it."

Any dog can be a vicious dog if trained or traumatized to it. Some can be more inclined to things then others but that's true for just about anything biological. I just like middle smaller size dogs personally cause I like dogs with noses and lower barks. And I want to be able to live through bathtime with my disabilities. Also larger dogs tend to have more energy that I don't have the ability to get rid off. I think a lot of people get larger dogs and get mad for them "misbehaving" and the dog just has to much energy and needs a good run.

Time to bust out the calipers to determine if my dog's skull fits within the socially acceptable parameters.

Thread is proof of your title.

My dad's friend had a pit mix named Swiper who was the damn sweetest dog I ever met. Trained like a champ and so docile, he'd snatch your winter glove out your back pocket and run with it. Total cuttie pie. Contrast that with my aunt and her goldens that would bite and run you down (especially when I was younger and they were as big as me). Bad owners people.

I will take a dozen well trained pits over a single purse-carried Chihuahua any day.

BadEmpanada continues to be a piece of shit, fork is found in the kitchen, more news at 11.

Was there some Rogan episode about pit bulls or something recently? People in my life have suddenly brought up the pit bull thing apropos of nothing and it feels like a media wave. Like I know the pit bull thing has been online for a while and is by no means a new phenomena. The coincidence of it coming back up online and then people in-person also talking about it out of nowhere seems weird.

This is coming from someone who usually defends BadEmpanada this is another issue where he is both wrong and way too invested in.

Eventually all those red flags start adding up and you see a pattern of reactionary behavior with leftist rhetoric.

I see it as similar to the therapy-language-ification of abusive persons. They have learned the vocabulary and how to weaponize it, but nothing else.

Yeah, that checks out.

Finding the hottest take on some culture war issue that you can pick fights over and get clicks is how you build a successful Youtube channel. It isn't how you build a movement or accomplish anything.

It's the same shit with Jimmy Dore and Force the Vote a few years ago, before he took advantage of the audience he grew and pivoted into selling fake medicine and spreading misinformation because it made him more money.

If you can understand why big media platforms will allow shows with anticapitalist messages on their platforms, because they make money, then you should be able to understand why people would use leftist rhetoric more directly to grow their own clout.

Three videos about pitbulls in two weeks? No matter what you think about that issue, you have to see that he's chosing to focus on it in order to capitalize on the divisiveness.

(rhetorical you, not OP, to be clear)

Before this devolves, I just want to say that I think the race perspective on this is interesting. In the UK there was a whole movement for large dog breeds (Centred around the "Bully XL" primarily) and that was very white. Likewise while some larger dog breeds are associated with minorities here the movement for legalisation of "Muscle dogs" in general was very much a white thing.

White, but also distinctly working class - many of Americas racism issues are classism issues in the UK.

in America its racist to be scared of the giant dogs bred and trained to be killing machines
in Britain its woke to be scared of the giant dogs bred and trained to be killing machines

Bred for almost the entire history of the breed to be working dogs and family dogs, the breed is tainted by both racism and a small minority of breeding for fighting.

The dichotomy is interesting, but it is pretty inescapable that there is a race angle to the dog discussion.

And of course there is the bad empanada corollary. What he says is mostly wrong by default.

Yeah it seems like a very American lens to view this through. I will monitor the situation to see if I'm wrong

It is very American but it is a real thing here.

This thread will be peaceful I swear

That's a ridiculous anecdotal "evidence" I work at a vet clinic and every pit I see is a sweetheart. I think I might have a larger sample size than you.
