CoMapsWhy do we regularly update our map files? Because thanks to thousands of OpenStreetMap editors, the maps are constantly getting better, like seen here. Do you contribute to OSM? Then show us some of your own favorite before/after map images in CoMaps!
And if you don't have any before/after images at hand: You still got some days to map before we start the next map generation 😉

Not going to doxx myself, but I've been updating local businesses and their opening hours. I've also been adding things like wilderness huts and campgrounds that weren't yet documented.
Mostly helping out map bouldering sectors in forests near my home with a friend of mine.
Mainly doing SCEE edits anywhere I go. Updating opening times adding metadata to existing nodes like accessibility for blind ppl. Charging capacity for chargers and a lot of what is this road surfaced with. At one point I even got a laser distance meter to measure bridge height and road width. But that's fairly rare nowadays because I already mapped all of them in a 20km radius.
I wish I had a before and after picture of my city. I mapped 95% of it over a few years.
You might be able to find websites who have implemented their own tile server and not maintained them. Here's one example via a Reddit post, but it's not ancient.
Obviously this isn't any good for the CoMaps comparison screenshots.
I added the sushi place near me with all the info, because every time I need to check their website or frigging Facebook to see if they're open or not. I think I'll add more places, its pretty easy with vespucci
No screenshot, because that would dox me. I am slowly moving through the village, adding house numbers, websites and opening hours for businesses and so on.
no before/after pics, but my contribs have mostly amounted to:
- an arby's location closed suddenly
- a kfc/taco bell on the same street is now a little caesar's
- this one applied much quicker than the arby's one for some reason
As a fairly longtime OSM user and someone with hundreds of contributions: thank you!!!
The project couldn't function without contributors like you who keep the map timely.

NGL the only thing that could make these maps useful for me would be Current Bus Routes, and good luck because in some municipalities not even the city's official websites are up to date and for some reason only Google Maps and Apple Maps are capable of telling when buses and trams actually arrive.
If somebody knows how to fix that please let me know.

yeah this! i've bookmarked the page from my local transit agency that contains all their GTFS data, i just don't know how i'm supposed to pipe it into OSM.
You could check out if project https://transitous.org/ is already using this feeds instead. If they don't use them, you could point out developers to this feeds!
