Qobuz now displays a tag alerting users when music has been identified as AI-generated. This added transparency allows users to more easily identify what they are listening to.
60% of streams from tracks identified as AI are currently deemed fraudulent by Qobuz’s anti-fraud systems and are therefore excluded from rights-holders' royalty payouts
When fraudulent practices are detected, Qobuz applies strict measures: affected streams are excluded from reporting and royalty payments, and the associated content is removed from the catalogue. Qobuz thereby continues its long-standing commitment to fair compensation for artists.
That's fair. If I want to listen to generated music, make sure I can search for it.
Before you start hammering downvote, notice that I'm in agreement with filtering out the generated tracks. Good music is good music, whether you play it correctly on the centuries-old grand piano, jam out on the guitar and drums, key in the synths on a midi, play a neural net, or a jar of mayonnaise. I don't want to encourage people to hide how they made their music. If it's generated, tag it as such. Let the people that actually want to listen decide if it's slop or serious.
I would love them to add a blocklist of artists or songs as well

They asked the QBZ dev to stall his efforts. He pushed a final polishing release and obliged, with no hard feelings in the announcement.
The official webapp (installed with PWA for Firefox) doesn't do too bad of a job either, so I was worried I had to switch again but will use that one for now.

Excellent news. Meanwhile Tidal seemed to remove the option to even report fraud in their app. Or moved it to someplace less conspicuous?
Tidal turned out to be wildly disappointing except for the audio quality in the unlikely event the app would play anything at all.

When I tried Tidal basically none of the artists I like had full discographies on the site. Which just didn’t make any sense to me at all. Especially since it was generally their first album that was missing.
I used it to supplement my Plex server back when that was an option. Not sure whether it was them or Plex, but once that went away, I dropped it. Have dropped Plex too now for Jellyfin, takes a little more effort for me, but it's better to deal with
I will probably be investigating Jellyfin soon. Plex is really starting to piss me off. They promised that turning off passout protection would be an option on the Apple TV in like 2019. Then in 2025 when they finally added the feature they put it behind a paywall and it didn’t even work. It’s taken until literally 4 days ago when they put out a fucking horrible Apple TV app update that broke audio casting again for the ability to turn off passout protection to finally work … maybe. All because I want to be able to leave the TV on for my dog without having to make a playlist.
I usually use Pluto for running the TV all night for my dog, so I don't know if Jellyfin will solve that problem, and there's a good chance if your files aren't named well, you'll have a lot of cleanup to do, it's worse with music than TV, but also easier to fix with music using MetaBrainz Picard. Basically prepare for some work initially, but it's worth it to get out of Plex's ecosystem as they enshittify.
Has been available in Deezer for many months now. And it's a significant part of the reason why I switched to it from Spotify in March.
