I would say the strength of the prescription can make a big difference. Stronger glasses can have a magnifying effect that changes how the eyes look significantly so they look like a different person without them.
The woman in the photo doesn't seem to have that effect going on though. I would bet those are either fake glasses for fashion, or a very light correction.

In my mind its hard to give something a pass if its both gross and preys on internalized harmful stereotypes or heirachies AND seems deeply unfunny.
