Never seen a mall die before. what are its symptoms?

It looks like The Backrooms, but less yellow

Basically just shops closing up, leading to way less foot traffic, to the point where it feels uncanny to be walking around in a technically-still-operating mall and see hardly any signs of life. Here's a whole youtube channel that explores dead malls around the country.

Symptoms include water buckets for the leaky flat roof, closed hallways, and only a GNC, Army Recruiting, and a Victoria's Secret left.
