LondonTo be fair in this situation, drivers had full plastic dividers installed during Covid, which were kept afterwards; presumably because it makes them feel safer. This means that there is now a properly sealed “cab” which wasn’t the case before, so the vents in there are now much more important to keep the area cool, and probably aren’t really adequate if you seal them into a box.
In fact, thinking about it it has to be a separate system to the rest of the bus if it was Covid safe. Unless they were just expected to keep the window open? Not sure.

The only way to get things from these entities is through striking.
Even Singapore didn't have a fully air-conditioned bus fleet until 2013. I remember being charged extra for riding on an air-conditioned bus there.
Indirectly a victory for the passengers too. Hard to understand how they thought it was acceptable to go without until now - buses this summer were utterly miserable in the heat.
