The widow of an Alabama airman killed during Operation Epic Fury has revealed that she and her children have been denied some of the benefits that bereaved family members are usually entitled to because the Iran war has not been declared an official war.
"The Air Force recently told me that because we haven't officially declared war, my kids and I aren't eligible for some benefits," Libby Klinner, the wife of the late US Air Force Major John "Alex" Klinner, wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday.
Alex Klinner, 33, had just been promoted to major in January and had been deployed less than a week when the refueling aircraft he was aboard crashed in Iraq in March, killing him and five others. He left behind his wife, their 7-month-old twins and a 2-year-old son.
Meanwhile, according to this article, payments to ICE contractors tripled.

Trump would think her husband didn't deserve any pay since he "was a loser that got killed". That's the way Trump has treated all service people and veterans. I'm really not sure how any person currently in the military doesn't understand that they are just disposable fodder.
Is that what they meant by "support our troops"?
Last time the US declared war was WW2.

i hope she noticed why the leopards ate her face at this point.
they can throw so many people under the bus constantly.
Lol
They lie to you to get you to sign up. Then they fuck you over the entire time you serve. Then they fuck you over after you die for them.
At this point, anyone who doesn't have a literal mental disability knows what the US military is doing and willingly signs up for it.
But if you re-enlist they will give you some time off to play GTA 6!
I mean this has been the case for a long time now. For all the "support the troops" performative bullshit that American politicians do they treat their soldiers and veterans pretty badly. They know that there will always be desperate young men and women that will sign up. I honestly think that one of the reasons the US refuses to implement public healthcare and free education is that it will cut into their supply of recruits.
What's wild to me is that a single vet can come out unjaded, wool and all
Going from one look at Vietnam, seeing hell, then to Iraq and Afghanistan is surreal. It's like a generational disconnect was kicked off with 9/11
Vietnam was drafted soldiers, so you got a whole slice of every type of person.
After the draft ended, it was strictly volunteers, so it's exclusively the true-believer, Starship Troopers patriots. Even if they come out with problems, they're less likely to blame the military for it.
That's not true in the slightest. Lots of people from poor families join because it's probably the best way out of poverty. Once of my good friends who's very left leaning joined did his service and then used the college benefits to get a career.
That's true. Wasn't thinking about the draft
best we can do is a eulogy about his brand of deodorant and favorite flavor for milk
crash
This guy died in an aircraft collision along with five others, he didn't get shot down by the brave defenders of the Iranian people
Iranian schoolboy pictured in archery practice 'for killing Trump'
Embedded link. TF, US kids play America's Army, CoD, WoW, but a kid practicing archery, who has every right and reason to be upset and seek redress unfound in any Western international "justice" organization is headline worthy.
That kid is definitely gonna travel halfway across the world to shoot Trump with a bow. What are these people smoking.
Wait, how is WoW related?
You have to be really stupid, poor, racist, or evil to volunteer for this military.
Since he was a Major he volunteered likely close to 20years ago.
eh. they were doing similar things back then, except to iraq instead.
Since he was a major, he was an officer and needed to do college first. So he probably joined ar 23. The article said he was 33. Likely in for 10 year.
A bachelors is completed at 21 typically in the US. If ROTC contract in college for Air Force, that counts as time in service.
33- 21 =12 + 4 = 16 years time in service.
The point was, they didn’t join THIS military.
They were transferred from a different military?
The US military was totally different 16 years ago, when we were engaged in completely different not-officially-a-war military operations that had nothing to do with oil and were only about democracy
My girfriend goes to a different military, you wouldn't know her.
it's beautiful
This is why you don't serve nazis.
Well duh, it’s a ‘special military operation’, not a war.

'Police action'
That’s some major bullshit. Hope the military starts voting smarter from here on now that they see what the GOP does.
Don't worry, they won't.
