Yeah, or even just people on other areas of the country. I was talking to a work colleague who I was out to and was a woman and I mentioned someone else who I had talked to about some stuff, also a woman, and she said, "oh she's my partner". But I thought she was married to a man and I thought for a moment maybe she was revealing something. But she then mentioned some stuff about how she's worked so closely with her and eventually I realized she meant she's been partnered with her at work for a long time. I haven't really heard, ”my partner", unless they meant legal business partner or romantic partner.
Straight girls calling their besties girlfriends is older women talk now?

It probably has to do with a greater expectation of girls dating girls amongst younger generations, even in relatively straight friend groups. Something like 10% of gen z don't consider themselves straight, and women seem far more open to the possibility, at least in my experience.
Then again, she might be...
Goals, tbh
Too bad :(
