Here's the riddle: did this ever happen?

I don't know if it ever happened to OOP, but I distinctly remember hearing something like this back in high school. Everyone was talking about how something basically like this story happened to a kid a few towns over. The post is leaving out a lot of details though, like how the teacher was confined to a wheelchair for the next year, and had to wear this giant fucked up halo headgear device for the next three. There was this huge police investigation too into whether it was a real accident or if the kid had been trying to mask an assault on the teacher for some reason. It got really heated in the local community, there was an alderman trying to accuse the kid of doing some kind of gang hit because he'd happened to be wearing a blue shirt that day and also had a blue bandanna in his backpack (he was a farm kid). But then it turned out that the alderman was the uncle of the captain of the football team in the town over the other side, and he was trying to get the farm kid arrested so he wouldn't be able to play in the state playoffs. It was really fucked up, but that kind of shit just happened in the 90s, like when in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table.

Holy shit, a real-life faux shittymorph encounter that I fell for hook, line, and sinker.

God bless.

Wasn't part of it that the name was shittymorph and they just bet you didn't read it?

I didn’t see @Apeman42@lemmy.world coming either

Personally, I found it easy to dodge the standard math class blackboard puddle, but I could understand others having trouble

standard math class blackboard puddle

For GenZ: the whiteboard was a chalk board, and one way to wipe off chalk was with a wet sponge placed near a bucket that every class room had and doubled as a fire bucket next to the bamboo cane. If the sponge wasn't wringed out properly when wiping, a puddle could form by the board

thank you for the explanation, as a genz myself I never personally witnessed a blackboard or chalk, since all my school had was levitating smartboards they purchased with their lavish budget.

wait, really? where? what kind of budget do your schools have?!? i'm smack-dab in the middle of gen z, in one of the wealthiest parts of switzerland, and there's always been at least one big-ass blackboard in every classroom i've ever been in, from 1st grade in primary school to every single lecture and seminar hall at university. most of my teachers until high school stuck to writing in pen on an overhead projector, and on the rare occasion that they needed to show something on the computer they'd just lower the blackboard and project onto the wall.

Fake: anon is in school

Gay: anon is tall and heavy

not to mention this random puddle in a math class lol

depends on how gay it is

Fake: anon slips on a puddle but classrooms are supposed to have carpeted floors

Gay: anon hurts a woman and makes several girls scream

?

never once seen carpet in a school

Yes while I started typing it I tried to picture what American classrooms looked like (from Hollywood films etc) and realised they're not the same as where I live

Now I image one of the super thick fluffy carpets. And how it would look after the first hour of classes

It's like 1/2 an inch of fluff, so not thick

Anon should have said chemistry class instead of math class, those have slick floors and sometimes eyewash stations with no drain

You could not pay me to teach high school. Teenagers are terrible people

~~Teenagers are terrible people~~

People are terrible.

…on the plus side they probably won’t remember a thing

... ever again

Quite embarrassing
