Even right wingers like this dude don't want authoritarian surveillance bs.

absolutely yes, the sooner the better

Even right wingers like this dude don’t want authoritarian surveillance bs

There's long been a hypocrisy with the right where they're all about civil liberties and privacy for themselves and authoritarian surveillance for everyone else.

Its not hypocrisy if you dont view most people as human beings.

this framing is so stupid to me

An East Tennessee county commissioner sparked controversy after suggesting during a public workshop that Flock CEO Garret Langley should be hanged for treason.

Excuse me? The real controversy is the nation-wide surveillance network used to track everyone's movements. The commissioner's response seems to be very measured in light of that fact.

Honestly, I have the impression that only death and high taxes can fix the problems we have with our overlords.

Good, let's hang him. Town square, all that dumb old town shit dumb ass conservatives miss despite never having.

Site doesn't load

I mean jail for everyone involved in this "illegal national spy program" makes more sense (because we're not barbarians, mostly) but if people go the rope-tree-traitor route i would say they probably want me on their jury.

There's a prison nearby.

There are not flock cameras outside the prison or anywhere near it.

That should tell you everything you need to know.

For fucks sake... don't scapegoat this 1 person.

Every township, every county, and every state government is enabling it. Flock just doesn't go around putting up cameras for charity. They are doing it because your governments are paying them for it.

I mean, I'm fine with hanging everyone involved i that's your point.

Don't scapegoat them, but also don't let them off the hook. Don't let them feel too comfortable about being openly evil. People being comfortable about being openly evil is how bad things happen.

Not wrong you know

Based

I concur

man talking sense right here

A lot of CEOs should be hanged.

Most, even

All perhaps

All billionaires but not all CEOs

Edit: I have my own LLC but I don't have any employees. I could, technically, call myself a CEO and that would be valid. Should I be hanged?

Same for me, I'm with you

No idea, why I should be hanged, because the only person I'm abusing is myself...

Should I be hanged?

Only if you really want to be. Maybe you're into that? You should probably use a buddy system, though.

Yeah, my second friend to die went out via autoerotic asphyxiation. Be careful with it.

Maybe just choked a little bit. Like, medium-choked at most.

This is easy.

Do you call yourself a CEO? If yes, then yes. If no, then no. 👍

I hope you don't actually believe that.

Not that it matters but I don't. My parents got me a little plaque for my desk that says "ramenshamen, <LLC name>, CEO" which is kinda fun but I'm just a guy. I don't walk around introducing myself as a CEO of a company where I'm the only employee.

I don't think you are really grasping how much people hate anyone even slightly associated with ceos.

Even if you just play act as them.

Not saying you're a bad person, but maybe distance yourself from the embodiment of parasitism.

I could MAYBE be talked into sparing all folks on social media claiming to be the CEOs of the side hustle. And I guess Gaben but he has to get rid of his yacht(s?) first

Personally I don't care how many yacts you have, but meddle in my government, behave like an aristocrat, try to surveil and manipulate all the proles, and I am not a happy camper. Very salty.

I think there ought to be a hard cap on wealth from 30mil net worth to somewhere around 250mil. Per person. Double that per family. The actual net worth number should be INDEXED to median (not average) wealth and income, cost of living, etc. And it should be determined democratically.

If we catch someone speeding, first offence just surrender all the wealth over the max wealth limit. Second offence? Capital punishment without the possibility of a pardon, and limited chances to appeal. This can't be treated like any other crime. Going over the wealth limit shound be considered treason.

What?

Free my homie Luigi!!

Dude plead guilty. Idk what his strategery is but it don't make since yo me

Got my vote.

And my axe!

There's actually a lot of political solidarity about mass surveillance. Go to the grimiest YouTube comment section and you'll see the same kind of vitriol against Palantir et al that you would here.

They just think it serves the globalhomo socialist cabal trying to take over the US and not the fascist coup that already has taken over the US.

We can't make them not suck as people but we can turn Frankenstein's monster back aginst them

i would even say with enough time and deprogramming we can make them suck a lot less than they do. perhaps it's true though that there can never be full recovery. but i think part of achieving class consciousness is having the faith to put in the effort in believing that better things are possible and that humans are neither inherently good nor inherently evil, but rather products of their environment

I disagree about one part. I do believe humans are inherently good. Sure, there are some people who are neuro-divergent that this doesn't apply to (though this doesn't mean they aren't capable of it, it just might not be inherent). Everyone else though I think are good. That's how we evolved.

They might not do good because they're mislead. That's why many of the conservative arguments are still made with a moral framework, like "think of the children/women" even though that's just a very thin veil. That's all it takes sometimes for people to do the wrong thing because they believe, without question, that they're doing something good.

I think that's part of why religion is bad. It isn't just because organized religion has evil people, but that religion is based on the concept of not questioning things. A lot of these people just believe they're doing good without considering if it's actually the right thing.

Edit: I'm surprised this is being downvoted. In case it's the neuro-divergent thing, I am. It isn't saying all aren't inherently good, but narcissists aren't. Their brain doesn't function in a way that lets them have empathy, so they aren't inherently good, but can be with effort.

I think once you're hardened to exterior influence by thought terminating mechanisms there's nothing left to save, but letting them kill their masters first seems prudent.

Whatever wakes them and their guns up is fine with me

I dream of a hack that puts Fock's CEO whereabout at all time using Flock cameras.

They REALLY like their privacy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3MQLlMbS-Y

We could purchase an easement from his neighbor for a camera pointed at his house. That would be funny...

Become a utility. They have easement rights.

This is the town that put up a speed camera on the highway around 2012 and someone took a shotgun to it. The authorities fixed the camera and someone shot it again.

WE DE-FLOCK HALLOWEEN NIGHT!!

Dick first.

Best believe this backlash is already factored into Flock's equations

You underestimate their arrogance.

Arrogance has little to do with making these strategic considerations. If anything arrogance is a strategy that comes from dealing with things like backlash etc. The cause is not arrogant people, or people lacking self awareness because of arrogance. It's simple economics in a way.

It is arrogance in not thinking they have to fear the people, or the government.

It's the same reason our politicians are now openly corrupt.

the people

Who exactly is "the people"? What constitutes "the people"? Aren't the bosses part of "the people"?

the government

Are they not the government?

And our governments.

Half these shit ass companies got funding from the government to do exactly what they do. I don't get why people chug on left right and center dick when it's all attached to the same monster culture.

It's almost as if the mentality of western culture as a single unit, is moreso the problem than the government... We have all been groomed to live our entire lives to keep this monster growing. It's not even about political parties, cops and these microcosms... There's people with good intentions and bad intentions in all aspects... Left right or center. Why? Because they are all groomed since birth to live for something universally unatural that requires constant oversight and war to maintain. They choose to live against the universe in order to control the narrative instead of choosing to work with the universe and nature to simply exist without greed.

But we've built the monster so big that if we leave the culture we will end up being treated like Muslims and the middle east. Isn't it clear we rape anything that isn't loyalty to the mindset we created for control? And then the same people that fund it have the gaul to go out and protest the same evil they participated in living for. It's like a mental illness. When are people going to wake up and realize not participating in this culture is the only minimally and slightly real path to stopping it....? We really already gave up humanity to monsters so in truth is say genuine natural honest humanity is already dead. Democracy is owned by those that understand psychology and have the means to manipulate. Democracy hasn't been authentic for decades. It's literally theater now.

I think this guy summed up modern western culture perfectly. I copied this from another post I made... So no YouTube link...

In my other comment I linked a YouTube video... I forget the guys name... But the channel is Middle Nation.

I wanted to share a summary of the first 4 minutes because I thought it hits so well. (Via YT ai).

In the first four minutes of the video (0:01 - 3:52), Shahid Bolsen argues that the flamboyant and nonsensical rhetoric coming from the US government and mainstream media is a deliberate tactic, not an accident.

Key takeaways from the opening segment:

The Filtering Mechanism:

He draws an analogy to email scammers who intentionally include poor grammar to filter for the most gullible targets. He suggests the US political and media establishment is doing the same thing: they are no longer trying to persuade intelligent, critical thinkers, but are instead sorting for a niche audience of loyalists who value belonging over truth (1:00 - 1:59).

Loyalty over Logic:

The speaker claims that the messaging has become a loyalty test. The goal is not to win support from the broader public, but to identify those who will blindly follow the official narrative regardless of how absurd it appears (2:00 - 2:31).

Abandoning Persuasion:

By relying on theatrical, infantile, and disconnected messaging, the power structure is essentially conceding that they no longer view the informed population as part of their legitimacy. They are building a "stupid club" for individuals who lack discernment and want to be told what to feel (3:02 - 3:52).

This concept is a about left right and center.

Democracy is owned by those that understand psychology and have the means to manipulate.

If you like 4 hour long documentaries, i think you might be interested in Adam curtis's "Century Of The Self". Pretty sure its on YouTube

Pretty much. As someone who dedicated my life to language it's been particularly unpleasant to watch its use as communication medium and meaning-making thing die over the course of a decade or less. I hate everyone involved.

At least they're full of passionate intensity.

Democracy hasn’t been authentic for decades. It’s literally theater now.

I regard most voting as giving your okay to have decisions made for you and not by you. The owning classes wouldn't OK their democracy shpiel if it didn't play a vital role in sustaining the system at this point. It's as if they're trying to say "oh, just go to the voting booth. We are one people and we are totally not divided through opposing interests. My interests are totally your interests, now go and vote for the candidate that managed to receive enough funds to compete, which is btw everyone on the ballot"

I don't think voting is terrible, on Wikipedia it seems to work quite well (and is not overused) because there is no real social stratification on that site like in the real world and everyone is united in the goal of creating a decent, stable source of knowledge. But a lot of democracy, even many direct forms of it, have shown themselves to be tools to legitimate state terrorism and to condition popular support from the people most negatively affected by present political decisions.

Here is a semi decent video about the futility of the whole thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM_AFv5Z7qI

I dont need the government to do something for me. I am more interested in stopping what its already doing.

Yes, right on. You won't stop them by voting.

It might be. Do you really think anyone still making decisions isn't completely brain rotted?

Yes. I think it's dangerous to say "they are just crazy"

They're... Crazy is a vast often thought terminating simplification, but I do think it applies to many of them. Not what I mean.

I mean psychological damage from excessive hard-slop yes-man culture and chatbot use. Things that would ruin any of us.

I wouldn't deny the damage caused by chatbot use, nor would I deny there being a culture of yes-men. These things are symptoms though, not causes. The question I think is important is "why are people this way?" and I don't believe it can really be sufficiently answered by considering individual psychology or looking at small scale workplace dynamics.

The US government, federal and local, is much better at unifying data streams at this point time than it ever was. Flock came to fill the hole. Of course you're going to get yes-men when such a big opportunity presents itself.

Arms manufacturing is also deeply unpopular. Arms manufacturers know this. They still do what they are doing fully aware about every implication, no culture of yes men needed in my opinion.

Traditional conservatives don't like it, the problem is that most of the parties that call themselves conservative or liberal (in US terminology or the equivalent terms in other countries) are actually all just right wing authoritarian parties with slightly different tactics to convince people to support them. Authoritarianism needs to control the narratives and to do that have an easy way to crack down on dissenters. Heck the term "rednecks" used to originally refer to left wing, labor rights activists. They just got manipulated into becoming sheep for the far right using single issue politics.

"Our flag will be red, with lots of X's. Well call ourselves the red'N'exs"

-civil war on drugs. Timmy.

Whatever it takes to legalize all drugs.

"X company has annoucned new safeguards to _______ (common sense concerns anyone not trying to speedrun Demolition Man would have forseen)."

Do they not realize this makes them confirmed to be so much worse than the average person thinks and exactly what everyone who hates them despises? They don't give a fuck about the rights of anyone they are violating and never have from the start which is why any of this could happen to begin with.

Fuck Flock.
