One assumes they're going to lose some users over this because my god is that place shit but do they care? I seem to remembner they used to sell their ad-space on user numbers, highly inflated, but surely even the marketing departments have caught up to this scam by now. Does it make any difference to facebook whether a non-ad-viewing person leaves?
Users with adblockers are still quite a minority. I don't know exact numbers but I think it's below 10-15%. The kind of person with an adblocker is also probably likely to be the same kind of person who avoids facebook for a million reasons, which likely means facebook won't bleed enough users to care. Plus, those locked in to the platform because of family and friends and whatever else may just have to capitulate to seeing ads.
