Rowling has not just become the perennial main character of anti-trans activism; she is driving it around the world. She is not simply someone with bad opinions but, in fact, is someone actively using the royalties gathered from brand partnerships like this to fund fighting human rights organizations that dare to suggest trans women should have rights.

However, much money Tim Hortons spent to secure the rights to slap “Hufflepuff” on a donut is going to fund initiatives like Rowling’s public fight against Amnesty International UK after the organization characterized an anti-trans sexual violence support centre set up by Rowling as . . . well, anti-trans. Those colour-changing Patronus iced drinks are boosting the profile of someone who tried to ruin a cis woman boxer’s life last year just because she was a masculine woman at the Olympics. That themed trivia event at your local Timmies will support the continued visibility of someone who has decided to spend every day making trans people’s lives worse.

*doughnut, not do nut.

Canadians spell it both ways.

Fuck Tims for supporting this genocidal psychopath. Boycott Tims, I hope they learn a lesson (they won't)

And by genocide I mean genocide. Don't think for a second it's staying contained, the UK is on track to join the US thanks to this waste of atoms

I hope you guys don't buy any. I get being a fan but the bitch is a monster and she's trying to hurt people all over the world. She thinks a dead kid is better than a trans kid and she's actively spending money to make that happen. Remind your friends that donut gives money for more dead trans kids.

Simple solution: don't go to Tim's. It's been shit for like 20 years already anyway.

I tried Tim Hortons for the first time about 7 years ago. Everyone told me that they were so excited for me because they could never relive that first time again. They told me that they had it so often that it lost its luster. I'd heard so much about Tim Hortons that I could hardly contain my excitement.

I tried it and politely told everyone it was fine. I tried it 7 times from 5 different stores. At the end of my trip, I was able to tell everyone that they hadn't become more jaded but that Tim Hortons just sucked.

Updoot for the name alone. But yeah, once upon a time it was pretty good but it was still just sandwiches, soup, coffee and donuts. Not that big a deal. Now it's straight up bad.

Peoples' brand worship is insane.

I don't understand how something so bad is so popular in Canada. I guess just people just don't know that there are better options?

Coffee isn’t great, but for fast food the price/quality is one of the better ones.

popular in Canada.

It's largely momentum and nostalgia for a time when it was actually decent.

History. Nostalgia. Convenience. Also branding.

Anywhere makes better donuts. Don't drink coffee but people complain about it all the time but still go there.

I don’t understand how something so bad is so popular in Canada.

It's only popular with middle aged white people who dilute their shit coffee with milk and sugar. Double-double is fucking disgusting.

Exactly. The last time anything there was good was when they were still baking everything in house. So, like, 2003.

honestly if you want shitty mud coffee just get it at McDonalds. you'll get slightly more mud for like 30 to 40 cents less.

McDonald's (last I checked) got the contract that Tim's coffee used to have. So it actually is Tim's coffee pre-2010s.

Buy from your local coffee shop though eff these jokers.

Also, burn it down.

How can the canonical Canadian donut shop have such a shit maple glaze?

It was sold to Burger King

I still love Timbits.

Why always british or american culture to sell canadian shit? What about Wayne and Shuster or Rene Simard!

Beaver tails use Canadian culture to market themselves.

This is why I didn't eat at Tim Horton's last time I was out

I mean it is a promotion and there is a new series coming out. Don't go to Tim's don't watch the series. Nobody asks for any of this promotional shit companies do but we all end up paying for it.

that was my thought. no ones asks for any of the stupid marketing they do.

Yes wonder why fast food is as expensive as going to a restaurant now. How many celebrities do they get to do commercials now? You think those are cheap? Corporate has to pay for it somehow.

It could also be the fact that beef has more than doubled over the last few (4-5 I think) years, or that minimum wage has more than doubled over the last 10 years. Would make sense then that fast food is about twice as expensive as 10 years ago lol
