196A word to the wise from your elders, there will come a time when you reach your body's limits. Once you pass that time, getting out of burnout is both harder to do and easier to fall back into. This kind of burnout has rendered me useless and the world has thrust me back into fight or flight on top of it. I have little hope of fixing this so I'm learning to live with it. You guys don't have to, learn how to get out of burnout and learn how to stay out of fight or flight before experience traps you there.

For years I only brushed my teeth cause every time I would say "well I just brush them a little bit that's gotta be a lot better than not at all". But once you stand there brushing, it's not too bad so you do it properly. It never stopped working.
I once read “anything worth doing is worth doing poorly” and that flipped my world upside down.
Sure, sometimes you want to out in the extra work for “good” or even “great”, but sometimes “it is” it’s totally fine. Sometimes I cook a nice dinner, sometimes a plate of pasta with canned sauce is fine. Sometimes just doing something is totally okay, however it comes out.
It's so hard for perfectionists. I honestly think most of us are autistic and it comes from that rigid thinking.
"Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good" had the same effect on me.
Somehow I had heard that variant, but to me it still sounded like “do it at best you can, even if it’s not absolutely perfect”, so it was still a push to reach higher.
Today I did half of my dishes (my water heater died months ago and I don’t have the energy to install the new one thats been sitting in the basement for months.. so no dishwasher for me) and just left the other half sitting in the sink. Will I finish them today? Who knows!?
But I got half of them done!

So uh, most dish washers will heat the water if it comes in too cold. It's a little more expensive than letting the water heater do it, and it'll take longer to finish. you usually just set it to the hottest wash option, and it'll heat the water inside the wash tub once full
Mister Heat Pumps (Technology Connections) claims the heaters in at least north American dishwashers are generally really weak and won't properly heat cold water.
The entire hot water line is disabled (the death was a massive leak) so it doesn't get water at all rn and theres no good way to bypass.
I certainly tried, though, cuz i assumed that was the case :)

Aww dang. Well at least you already have the fix whenever you find the time to do it.

So this can help me just start doing a thing, but if I don't sit down and fix shit I'll end up feeling unmotivated until I get sloppy enough to stop all together. If I haven't meticulously optimized the task for myself I'm gonna stop seeing it as my problem.
