Economic policy is just the engine that moves the economy. The real problem runs deeper. Greedy men love that the socialism vs capitalism debate gets so much attention.
You have to consider that they have to ask this question in the most neutral way to get the most accurate responses. If they tried schooling the people who think reality is fucked, but are not full on socialist (yet), that shit never works. And would skew the responses.
34k people in 28 countries? About 1.2k per country? Even if it actually means 34k per country, the sample is so ridiculously small that this statistic accounts for nothing. I can assure you if I interview 1.2k people on the main street of my city in Brazil I will get a very very different number, with the vast majority not even understanding the question.
1000 people is enough for a representative sample
Yeah, if if you expect 1000 people you interviewed at a corner next to a social sciences college or corner next to an evangelical church to represent a country with 200m population and huge cultural regional differences, sure.
It all boils down on how representative for the entire population the participants of the statistics are chosen: location, age, gender, education, job, …
If your sample is a sufficiently random representative of the population, there won't be a difference between 1,200 people and 12,000,000 people.
Nope, theoretically true but not the least feasible in the reality. My sample could at best represent my 160k people city, which 80% voted for our local Mussolini, not my 200m people country which has wide regional differences... imagine for India, with almost 1.5m people, and those interviews can't possible have the necessary wide geographical and social scope in countries that size having such an insignificantly sample size... what's their methodology? Random pop-ups on social media? You already excluded a huge chunk of the population that doesn't use social media at all. Was it people standing on a big city interview passersby? Time and location will taint the results and again, insignificant geographical scope. Random phone calls? Well informed people have their numbers on "do-not-disturb" lists, don't answer random questions to strangers on the phone, etc, etc, so your sample is not random enough anymore because a chunk of population be represented on it, etc, etc

Thats higher numbers than I thought there would be in all the countries mentioned. I guess the question asks if people are happy with capitalism in its current state. That must include a whole bunch of people who think their country needs even more capitalism.
All countries with hardly any regulation of industry at all. Turns out economic systems don’t matter if there isn’t something to stop bad actors.
