They denying pee breaks so the tech dept can go 860% over budget.
Why is AWS using Claude when they have their own AI solutions.
I just finished reading Starship Troopers and cooking bacon only brings one thing to mind. But on topic that isn't a mistake.
"Menial tasks should be performed using Amazon's own LLM call Nova. Did you know we had an LLM? No? Well we just fired the whole Nova team anyway." - Amazon executives probably
If they went 860% over budget and spent 1.8 million dollars, they still intended to spend almost $190,000 on slop output from the plagiarism robot.
The word they meant to use is "carelessly". We would also have accepted "inattentively".
"Greedily" works too.
My org has a policy of requesting us to use copilot as much as we can. Its also almost completely useless at my job, but its really good if i just write my functions and queries super sloppy and just get it to organize the text.
Burning down an acre of rainforest and charging the company so i don't have to press enter.
I would hope that this would give the few sane people left at Amazon a bit of ammo to reduce reliance on AI, but this is Amazon we're talking about.
Nah I want them to go all in. Seems like the world where that happens is the one where Amazon is most likely to collapse or at least emerge in a diminished state, which would be great. Fuck Amazon.
In the words of Cory Doctorow, "I'm not an accelerationist, but I'm not not an accelerationist."
