The moment WW2 ended, the "allies" pivoted to fighting communism. They gave a lot of the top communism-fighter jobs to the most experienced communism-fighters they could find: literal Nazis.

It bears repeating that the lower panel is nowhere near as horrendous as what the defendants had been doing.

i'm partial to this story

"I once saw DPs(displaced person) beat an SS man and then strap him to the steel gurney of a crematorium. They slid him in the oven, turned on the heat and took him back out. Beat him again, and put him back in until he was burnt alive. I did nothing to stop it. I suppose I could have brandished my weapon or shot in the air, but I was not inclined to do so.

Werner von Braun never went to prison he just got a cushy job

I see this name every once in a while; it's not what that one ship in System Shock 2 is named for is it? I think it was, like, the first ship to have FTL drives and it was docked with the orbital space station.

Edit: or does the game take place on the Von Braun? My memory of the game is fuzzy...

I think there was an incident where a Nazi SS officer being held in a US processing facility at the end of the war got clubbed to death because some exiled Polish soldiers who were also there didn't want him to get off with a slap on the wrist so they busted into his cell with chair legs.

this must be from one of the newer seasons

Newer Simpsons would never make a joke like this, it's pure liberal civility these days.

😤

They’re butchering the classics! Matt Groening is rolling over in his grave.

Further proof that the USSR was just TANKIES who used their AUTHORITARIAN system to commit violence!

"Uhh anyways here's wonderwall"

gets shot immediately instead

And a cushy new job at our new Aeronautics organization!

When you get a job at NATO because you already know everyone working there.

::: spoiler spoiler Adolf Heusinger, Hans Speidel, Johannes Steinhoff, Johann von Kielmansegg, Ernst Ferber, Karl Schnell, Franz-Joseph Schulze, Ferdinand von Senger und Etterlin. :::

Don't forget chemical/biological weapons (which they continued to test on the general populace without their knowledge) including Agent Orange (not the only Nazi connection to Vietnam), the American military including the very genesis of special forces (look up Larry Thorne, very influential in American special forces & a devout Nazi), and other various highly influential positions in American institutions

"What about us Nazi slobs?"

"You'll be given cushy jobs!"

But europe's still all cracked and broken...

Yugoslav justice

Well there was that guy who lied on his resume about being a former hangman, then he botched a bunch of hangings.

Counterpoint: the boot who gave Goring cyanide

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

The closest thing to US-issued justice in WWII was the Dachau Liberation Reprisals

i would simply play 4'33'' on infinite loop

I would simply not commit war crimes
