According to International Labour Organization, 29 million slaves - 71% of the estimated total - are women and girls. They also comprise 99% of forced labour workforce in sex industry, and 84% of forced marriages.
I hate this species. It's 2026 and we still have to read such maddening headlines.

Really seems like something that should be studied more often if it's not already.
Slavery is a complicated field to study, for obvious reasons, so the data is often sparse. But I wholeheartedly agree.
