And I use "normal" in scare quotes, because, according to whom, exactly, capitalism? Society? Yourself? Some of the "weirdest" people I've met in my life where also some of the nicest and actually helped me out. People you'd peg as "normal"? Well I've had my fair share of shit with them. I'm not about to put up with some reddit lord trying to score points with cool kid podcasters by throwing people who feed the homeless under the bus, fuck you very much.

We have people on this very site who use "be normal" and out themselves as ableist when challenged on it.

The coindexter sparks another struggle session

Enough revisionism. The "be normal" stuff that comes from TrueAnon (particularly Brace) and Chapo is purely about them getting yelled at online. People criticized them for using the r-slur and they started pushing this "be normal" stuff because it meant not being the kind of person who is offended by slurs. They're seriously trying to imply that the Western left can't gain ground because as soon as a blue collar worker says the r-slur and gets scolded for it, they will not be receptive to our ideas. That's it. That's as deep as it gets from our podcasters. It's not actually about tact in public relations, it's about them not being criticized on twitter.

People who treated the claim in good faith were duped, and I'm sorry for that. Some people picked up on it though and whole-heartedly agree that the Western left can't gain ground because of online wokescolds.

maybe leftism would actually accomplish something.

Leftism, lol

Yeah I thought "be normal" was just some advice brace gave in the context of organizing one's workplace, where it contrasts with going all "seize the means of production!" before you even have a union. I believe another part of that advice was to win the respect of your coworkers, and be a proactive, productive team member at your job.

Apparently "be normal" got picked up by streamers and others? I'm sure the original intent is gone.

Holy strawman batman!

This "Just be normal" attitude is the same bullshit that got people like Gorbachev and his crew to assume he can just be reasonable with the Capitalists.

Yes there's obviously benefits to being publicly likeable, approachable, accommodating, there's benefits of learning customary norms and employing them when appropriate. At the same time this world we live in is not even close to normal, I refuse to adjust to this world. I do not want to get adjusted to this world. I don't want to destroy this world. We can build better.

We can be normal by not shitting on the working class who likes watching sport. Not by capitulating to neoliberalism, capialism, imperialism.

not shitting on the working class who likes watching sport

Sports are games, therefore sports fans are g*mers

Oh no won't someone think of your emotional support billion dollar industry. This "Sports fans are being persecuted by the left uwu" thing is so much weirder than the sportsball thing.

"persecuting" is a hilarious jump from "shitting on" lmao

It isnt. And your cultural hegemony is not a smol bean

Big rant incoming:

Yeah I've said this before too. I don't mind some of the stuff that sub posts, but when they get into the, how do I put it, social postering? Trying really hard to be one of the cool kids by using slurs and appealing to the same old highschool level social hierarchies "biting the outcasts" stuff? It makes me roll my eyes. It's the same teenager aesthetic maturity that people keep falling for again and again despite being grown ass adults.

It wild because we were literally these people 6-7 years ago. I guess having a lot of users from marginalized backgrounds helped us do a little self-crit. Sure, we might not be a big popular subreddit, we might still have our own shitty toxic issues, but we sure as hell aren't like these guys stuck in 2018 Dirtbag Left mode long after it's lost it's usefulness. That sort of thing was cathartic when the only 'left' voice were libs who were too afraid to hit the right below the belt, but now everyone does it, even liberals. Hell, the word chud has even lost all meaning and has been coopted by liberals to just mean 'incel' which in has also lost it's meaning. The machine has caught on to that kind of thing and can absorb it now. It's time for the left to change strategies now and start actually start offering solutions to the structural failings of capitalist conservatism and liberalism while it's crumbling.

Because it's no longer a "How do we convince people we aren't losers like the liberals" thing anymore. Most people can see the cracks in the two party capitalist system and are seriously struggling. Without communists offering real, tangible solutions to the current system things will continue to go the same way it has with COVID and Climate Change. In other words people will go into that state of hyperrealism where they know the world is crumbling but keep doing what they always do because they see no way out and in their heads acknowledging the truth does nothing but cause them pain over things they can't change. So they turn to the right in the hopes that they can get a tiny bit of comfort and normalcy while they can. Every man for himself style. Grab whatever junk is lying around while the ship is sinking type shit.

People don't feel like they have the power to change anything. So our job now isn't to call Harry Potter loving liberals gay and stupid, it's to somehow make organizing/cooperation/revolution/radical action/whatever you want to call it seem something they have to do and heres how. It's to provide a viable alternative and to somehow get them to take part even if that alternative will make them a target for the powers that be.

I believe the biggest barriers to this is the underlying unspoken truth behind why people fall for "just be normal". That is, societal norms that condition us to be so scared of being cast out from society that the majority of people will sit by and allow horrible atrocities to occur as long as they're the status quo. It's a deep instinct that transcends logic and the ruling class has become very, very good at using it against it's population.

Because the truth is, that there is no way for the people to stand up to the ruling class without being mercilessly dragged through the mud. As soon as they do anything the capitalist controlled narrative can and will paint them the same as they paint everyone that poses even a minor threat. Do you think a society that is as afraid of being seen as cringe as ours is will last one second in that environment? Could handle being painted as unhinged extremists? Because really the 'normal' people I talk to who know the problem with capitalism and that want it to end would never consider taking real action and deep down I know this is why. Most people can't even handle the mockery they would get for being vegan even if they know it's the right thing to do, so what makes you think they could handle the ostracisation they would get from being revolutionary communists?

So yes, I think we should challenge the idea of normal. There is no way to fight against a current regime that has this much control of our social structures and still be considered normal. The world will burn long before we find away to make communism normal under the boot of the 2026 capitalist propaganda machine. We should be showing people the solutions to the current problems, as well as working to assure people that they cannot avoid being publicly tarred and feathered eventually because shits falling apart, so they're better off just fucking doing the damn right thing. Doing nothing is going to be more extreme and painful than playing along with daddy capitalism so it's time to kill normal.

Most of all we need to kill the idea of accepting the status quo. Aceptance isn't wise and mature, it's defeat. We need to be saying "Being a good little pick me for the capitalist status quo won"'t save you." but we can't stop there because the response is usually defeated "Well I guess there's nothing we can do and everything being terrible is normal" which is where I feel most of society is at. So to this we need to be saying "Actually there is something that will save us, this is what it is and this is what we will do." Normal got us the Epstein class, so the attitude needs to change from "how do I get normal to accept me?" into "Boo me all you want, I've seen what makes you cheer!"

Make the concept of adhearing to the current normal so contemptable that it is no longer safe to take part.

6-7

I knew someone would say that

Don't you dare dance-off at me, you'll never win

Im just here for the vibes

hypercapitalist dystopia is what's "normal" these days and "normal people" reflect that. there is a reason they aren't usually the ones on the trenches.

fuck that and fuck them.

Kill the idea of Reddit

"be normal" has always been a pretty shit phrase, IMO it should be replaced with "be social". The point allegedly is about not alienating people from the movement, and I think putting the sentiment on a social/antisocial axis is much more useful of a framing and doesn't smack of discrimination.

“Be nomal” is such a bad PR phrase because it can mean anything and everyone just defines it in the way that’s convenient for them. It is kind of funny (and sad) that it took off so well. “Be social” is way better!

Be rootin'

Be tootin'

But most of all, be kind

IMO it should be replaced with "be social"

That's a beautiful way of thinking about this, thanks! I'm a total loner and weirdo. I don't need to work on being less weird because being weird is cool and fun and simply who I am as a human. I do however need to work on being more social!

I like this a lot, gonna try to absorb it into my lexicon. Wanting to teach baby chameleon less ableist language and having alternatives instead of just cutting out words and phrases entirely is much easier.

sure but it's also about being social in a way that brings people into the socialist sphere instead of turning them off of it. The point of "be normal" is to not alienate people by acting in ways most people can't tolerate. Which is just equivalent to wrecking. Which yes does mean suppressing neuroticism about certain things. People aren't going to trust a socialist organization if it's a madhouse and a bunch of polycules that only attracts people who can't "be normal" in other places.

I think the criticism is that "be normal" almost always manifests as tailism and scolding. "Oh, you think we shouldn't tell misogynistic jokes? Why can't you be normal!" The social/antisocial axis as I imagine it would put "be understanding that not everybody is as familiar with feminist theory as you" as social, and would put both "excessively scold every baby leftist" AND "let people who do reactionary shit keep doing it without pushback" firmly in the "antisocial" pile.

Most frequently when I see complaints about socialist orgs not being normal it's from a chud who saw a non natural hair color. We shouldn't take those critiques seriously, because they're not being made in good faith.

I sometimes think the whole leftist podcaster/YouTuber phenomenon is a way for a very small minority of left leaning people to cash out and not much else. A lot of them are micro celebrities and their popularity is sustained massively by an unhealthy parasocial element. Very few put out rigorous academic level content and mostly it's just vibes.

Like with trueanon, what the fuck are they talking about half the time lmfao. And hakim from deprogram is highly educated but being a religious communist is entirely contradictory. My own path to becoming a wannabe communist (because I am just a capitalist subject that wishes they weren't ) was abandoning my own religion first which allowed space for me to actually begin understanding how the world works. But just a few examples. These days the only lefty YouTubers or podcasters I listen to is academic videos like critical workshop theory on youtube. I find it so much more interesting.

My own path to becoming a wannabe communist (because I am just a capitalist subject that wishes they weren't ) was abandoning my own religion first which allowed space for me to actually begin understanding how the world works.

And, like Marx when he abandoned deism, you concluded that all class societies (including capitalist society) are religious because they operate via fetishism, veiled relations between person and person and people and nature, and that struggling against religion means abolishing the conditions that give birth to it rather than any idealist conception of it being a matter of spreading the truth to combat false gods, right?

Do you want to make a point or be sarcastic? Maybe decide that before you write something

being a religious communist is entirely contradictory.

Not true at all

It is strictly contradictory in the most widespread sense of "religion". Religion most often implies a metaphysical working for the universe, which is incompatible with scientific materialism. Abstract cultural and ritual practices are of course not incompatible with Marxism, but that's more culture than it is religion in the strict sense IMO, boils down to definition of words.

The guy youve named urself after said theres no contradiction lol. Cuba lets catholics into the party.

Keep in mind I said "strictly". Political practice is all but strict, and a revolutionary movement born in Cuba is obviously necessarily inclusive of Catholics. This doesn't mean that Catholicism is compatible with materialism, being materialist actually requires discarding the metaphysical aspects such as miracles, any event of godly intervention on Earth, and the cores event of Christianity which are creation, immaculate conception, resurrection, and the existence of souls and afterlife.

Marxist political movements are full of concessions that are contrary to ideology but necessary in practice. The Soviets absolutely understood that peasants wanting land ownership was a negative thing compared to collective ownership, and the ideal practice was the Sovkhoz (agricultural state companies operating under economic planning) rather than the Kolkhoz (private agricultural communes operating to an extent under the profit motive). However, in order to satisfy peasant desires in 1929, the collectivization had to be carried out majorly in the latter form. This is an example of good revolutionary Marxist practice which directly opposed strict theory.

I'm a huge Hakim fanboy (he was mentioned in the main comment of this chain) and I respect him probably more than any other socialist currently alive in terms of theory, he's educated me more than anyone else. I still can respect him as an incredible Marxist agitator and educator and believe that I have opinion differences with him regarding religion in the particular sense of metaphysical claims (and not about cultural practices and rituals as I said).

Not it's very true

You need to get off the online atheist crap and realize that there are multitudes of ways communism can and has been driven in the world with a religious lens

Religion describes a worldview as does Marxism. The two eventually will conflict. And the atheist movement is just an anti Muslim racism campaign that almost definitely has Zionist funding because it is a huge justification for that genocidal entity. So please don't smear me when you don't know what you're talking about. Even as a former Muslim I am the target of the atheists movement

Just wanted to add that by Zionist funding I mean all Zionist funding. From Zionist sickos like the Ellison's to Mossad, CIA and other intelligence agencies. We know the biggest people in the atheist movement were great friends with the king of pedos Epstein and absolutely not a mossad agent because he said so in his emails

Very few put out rigorous academic level content

I think it's worse than that, since they don't even as much as put out things that are well-researched. In my view, the best and really only service done by TrueAnon and Chapo (and I guess deprogram) is that they do have some good interviews with figures who do know what they are talking about and put out well-researched work on important issues.

being a religious communist is entirely contradictory

Being a religious Marxist is contradictory, so his stance is, but it's worth mentioning that there are non-Marxist religious communists whose stances are much more coherent, even if they are still wrong and in reality we need a materialist understanding of the world to not kneecap any ability to engage with our conditions.

My own path to becoming a wannabe communist (because I am just a capitalist subject that wishes they weren't )

Being a subject of capitalism isn't the same as being a liberal, just like being subjects of feudalism didn't prevent those liberals revolting against it from being liberals. It's normative participation in being a capitalist subject that makes you effectively a liberal, i.e. something you can change.

I realize all three of my points could be read as quibbling over word choice, so sorry if it comes off that way.

Being a religious Marxist is contradictory, so his stance is, but it's worth mentioning that there are non-Marxist religious communists whose stances are much more coherent, even if they are still wrong and in reality we need a materialist understanding of the world to not kneecap any ability to engage with our conditions.

Yes that's the issue. Eventually the contradictions will compromise the Marxism.

Being a subject of capitalism isn't the same as being a liberal, just like being subjects of feudalism didn't prevent those liberals revolting against it from being liberals.

So the thing is even by not being an active supporter of the capitalist system you still massively benefit from it if you live in the imperial core. So I just view that as being an involuntary capitalist subject.

That's why the "revolting against it" part is important and what I distinguished from "normative participation." Trying to say beyond that that one "isn't really a communist" because they live in the imperial core or whatever is, ironically enough, more like a theological stance than a useful assessment of someone.

I get what you mean. My understanding was just that if you live under a capitalist system you are definitionally a capitalist subject. Maybe semantics on my end

I mean its not surprising, this is the same group of "leftists" who think Kendrick Lamar is the pied piper of Black people and rappers are the reason there's no revolutionary energy in the black community....

After the mass purge of 2020 reddit has become a wasteland of incels, bots and crank dead-enders of all types, it's biggest organic engagement is porn subs and sports and even then it's still largely inorganic because it's so much more white than it was 10 ten years ago

The normalcy discourse always rubbed me the wrong way. Normalcy is death.

Normal is what got humankty in this death spiral in the first place

The only normal people are those who you don't know very well.

This.

Who is normal?

Mortals who accept a non rational universe and do not fight for having a rational one where all wills can become real? This is what we have now as "normies"

be normal

talk in normal words about leftist stuff

every time i hear someone say dialectics or proletariat irl, i go like inside

(a) you sound like soviet poster

(b) unless your interlocutor is in philosophy, even if they know this stuff, it still takes time to retranslate the meaning (analytical philosophy worst european invention btw) of the sentence

(c) politicians talk like middleschoolers, there is a reason for that, you can ramp up precision and wording depending on audience

(d) good rule of thumb for slurs is can a person with that characteristic (or people loving them) receive your utterance? (say by reading a tweet, or hearing you talk in a bar) -never use it, if so. the reason for clean speech is in not offending those you don’t want to offend, not because of a thought police/authority/tolerance whatever, it’s about being caring while talking to potentially thousands via social media (which encompasses probably all human conditions by statistics alone). and it is different when you talk to coworkers/friends, because there are literally two of you.

trueanon i think fails on all except maybe (c), but for obvious reason

every time i hear someone say dialectics or proletariat irl, i go like inside

I cri because I talk like this. I really try not to

Truth nuke: a normie hearing a leftist say "proletariat" or "dialectics" causes the same feelings and emotions as a leftist hearing a normie say "Gryffindor" or "muggles."

That's optimistic. I suspect a normie hearing "proletariat" won't even know what it means enough to be put-off by it. It'll just be incomprehensible jargon, like hearing techies talk about computer parts.

Dead on, the last time I really cut loose I got hit with the look, and after a quick explanation I got in turn hit with hocus pocus talk about vibrations and frequencies and ascending to a new dimension to heal the world with me going

I use "dialectics" cause most of the therapy I've done is DBT, dialectical behavioral therapy lol 😅

Marxism is from the continental rather than analytic tradition.

Also it's not worth getting into too extensively, but if you insist on doing slur-o-nometry, I think the main thing is just if the term is reactionary or not because we shouldn't be tailists. It's usually good to avoid offending people, but that's not the only factor.

But this is all missing one of the most core elements of the trueanon thing, which is basically just "mask any neurodivergence". Very frequently when someone says "be normal" they are just saying that.

I even got shat on here for calling out what brace means by “be normal” as ableist.

You were absolutely correct about it, tho.

Huh, why am I utterly unsurprised that you’re on the right side of this? Some day I need to catch you posting something I disagree with so I can try to figure out why I’m wrong.

I even got shat on here for calling out what brace means by “be normal” as ableist.

Not even low-key, it really is.

Every tag you pointed out as bad should be removed, no question.

It wasn’t all bad, at least I learned that misogyny is hilarious. I wouldn’t ever have known without that thread.

I remember during the world cup there were quite a few posts on there about how if you root against the US and were American you were a freak weirdo who doesn't understand how to be normal in person. Bro's couldn't imagine me wanting to talk shit about the US in a supposed socialist/communist subreddit.

Like yeah man I'm going up to my friends irl who are cheering for team USA and going "erm you're actually a bad person and should kill yourself" and not just going "oh I don't care for soccer that much" 🙄

The majority of people in the US don't care about the World Cup, and the majority of people in the US who cared about the World Cup weren't rooting for the US lmao. People who root for the US are the real freaks of nature.

Anyone who asked i said I'm rooting against US (I'm American) and people got it, idk what that sub could be thinking.

I know I'm in weird circles though because between the WC and the Olympics I'm still weirded out by non-Chuds cheering for the US because I'm just like what world/country are you living in, i know you're pissed and almost everything that sucks about today was American Made, give it up

I was recently typing up a write-up that I'm yet to post — assuming I ever do post it — and I found myself falling into this exact trap while writing it. I don't even follow any "cool kid podcasters" so I must've just learned the "be normal" rhetoric through osmosis, maybe a site tagline here? In any case, immediately after I'd typed the words, I thought, "Where did I even learn this line from?! I'M not normal, for chrissake! I'm autistic and go by neopronouns, and somehow I have the audacity to call other people weird?! Guess I've got some more internalized prejudice to unlearn…"

…I mean, my write-up's point about being in touch and loving your fellow human being and all is still valid, but the way I was framing that argument with these loaded terms definitely came from a place of internalized ableism. But hey, at least there's a lesson about the importance of self-crit to be learned here, right?

I don't even follow any "cool kid podcasters" so I must've just learned the "be normal" rhetoric through osmosis, maybe a site tagline here?

There's quite a history of people on the site using the term (only encouraged by their favorite streamer doing it), so it easily could have been from that.

I think it's a great thing that you identified a concern, thought critically about it, and changed your behavior. The above-mentioned users predictably only seem to do so when they feel they are losing the room, so the only thing to be done about it is to make sure they do lose the room, because what is considered acceptable or unacceptable can and sometimes must be changed.

the thing about becoming an adult for me was realizing nobody is normal, everybody is a weird little fucking gremlin person in one way or another. As someone who frequently has had difficulty interpreting people in social situations I'm also pretty sure most "normal" people have no clue how tf to respond or consider most other people's thoughts, they just pretend that's not the case much more effortlessly than an autistic person masking, to the point that they don't even realize it's a thing

Isn't Brace kinda a weird guy himself?

I guess joining a CIA backed militia isn’t the normal way to support imperialism

was this obvious without hindsight?

Every communist space I've been in had critically supported Assad over the Kurdish factions from the start for specifically that reason. I think somebody who is going to pick up a rifle for them ought to be doing vastly more research than we had done back then to understand what exactly they're fighting for

I'm actually okay with Kurds working with USA, if they had advanced communism as a result. And currently it doesn't look like that.

I'm too ignorant of what's going on with all that.

I know that what those people mean by "normal" mostly is to not alienate people within and out of your movement for pragmatic reasons but it always raised an eyebrow with me. At least from other TrueAnon redditors who uses that quote, there is always an air of cutting out the undesireables less it sabotage the movement. It also doesn't help that many of those people also tended to usually point the issue with LGBT, the homeless, people of color and disabled folks first. Asking for them to be quiet so that the "normal" people can get things done.

I know that what those people mean by "normal" mostly is to not alienate people within and out of your movement for pragmatic reasons

A lot of them are just tailists who think we need to compromise with reactionary positions because we need the support of reactionaries. For all these types like shitting on Dems, they end up being similarly spineless and obsessed with respectability when it suits them.

A lot of them are just tailings

I realise this is either a typo or, more likely, autocorrect, but I was a designer working with mining engineers for many years and calling bad people "tailings" made me laugh.

Also consider that tailings are sometimes called "slimes". I propose that this would also be an appropriate term for shitty podcast hosts, as in: "the Chapo trap house slimes have been becoming increasingly reactionary over the past few years and honestly I consider them to be liberals now".

Yeah, it got autocorrected from "tailist", but that is indeed funny.

I don't agree with your assessment of Chapo overall, at least Will I think is still a commie even if he's not really a good one, but Felix is certainly a slime.

I don't listen any more and haven't in many, many years, but before I stopped Will actually always felt like the biggest reactionary to me:) doesn't really matter of course!

That's fair, I don't really have a clear idea of their trajectories, and maybe he was truly horrible at the time or maybe my memory is overly selective and he still is. You're right that it doesn't matter, just giving my thoughts.

How do they square the circle with the fact that nobody in Burgerland is fucking normal? Every Burgerlander is a fucking freak compared with the rest of humanity. "Being normal" in the Burgerland context just means being unhinged but being unhinged in such a way that the majority of other unhinged freaks approve of your particular brand of unhinginess. Burgerlanders are even freaks compared with other Westerners, who themselves aren't exactly close to the global median of normality either.

(Yes, I know the idea of normality itself is problematic, but even if you accept this problematic framing, the vast majority of Burgerlanders aren't normal compared with the rest of the world. The only "normal" people in the US are immigrants from the Global South.)

They of course don’t mean normal in a global sense. The biggest things you can do to “be normal” are:

  • Be white
  • Be cis
  • Be neurotypical
  • Be straight

Be able-bodied, in speech especially

yeah, definitely in speech, but not just

Yes of course, not just in speech but speech and like 'the articulate way' is so much centered for normality.

  • Be lib

Well, maybe not quite as much when brace is saying it vs even more libbed up people, but

Yeah I'm normal, I meow, make 80k, program on the side, supporr unions, meow

making 80k is not normal, outcast!

bwhehehe

you have to be perpendicular to the ground along all axes

I have been falling out of most of the podcasts, trueanon, the deprogram, all the 'cool kids' podcasts. These people really show themselves when they talk about being normal. I am proud of you for taking this step.

It's probably the most disappointing thing about Boonta Vista, and when they say it they just mean "be normal to us (ie don't say horrible and/or over familiar things to us)" and it's STILL a shitty way to frame it.

I have started to despise words like AI, normal, and health. Like come on man

"AI"? I don't think I've encountered that being used in a shitty way? (Although I wouldn't be shocked...)

In my experience most of these 'cool leftists' mean it in chatgpt and deepseek way, which they can use to blindly praise China. Like oki I am sympathetic to the Chinese project as well but the amount of problems it still has I wouldn't praise it blindly. Like these people talk about being 'marriage pilled' and 'china pilled' like yes but marriage as a concept is inherit to class society let alone capitalism and theirs no other reason to legalize a relationship and China literally had scientists trying to make vaccines for pregnant women which would reduce chances of autism in fetuses like my guy China has a lot of cool things but you need some kind of bearing on yourself otherwise you're sending the signal that the only people who are welcome in socialism are able bodied neurotypical people, reducing poverty is bare minimum a govt should do, bare minimum, there's literally no downside to it at a human level but people think that excuses literally every other problem.

they put old.reddit.com behind a login now

i haven't gone on reddit in years but i saw another thread that there's some cookie bullshit you can do to get around it

proud of you comrade

r/trueanon is kinda shitty. r/moretankiethedeprogram is aight tho

This is just a crass shut-up line, which makes sense given that "be normal" often also is.

What shoe? Your prior comment didn't make sense (it's causally confused) and it seemed like it wasn't supposed to, it's just a sneer written with a pretense of saying something.

it's not healthy to get bent out of shape on a saturday over a comment some podcast made years ago

Is being astonishingly disingenuous part of "being normal"? You know this is not a reasonable representation of what is being discussed even remotely. The discussion is about a current issue with how people communicate with each other.

i love all of you, and with that love i say that

There's no hate like Christian love

go outside

Shut up line

fragile

Come on, it's just shut up line after shut up line after shut up line.

we can discover that we are more than just a misidentification with our misperceived inferiority

Could you explain to me what this has to do with the topic?

oh hey look a person saying something flippantly shitty also has a username which is a horrible, flippant reference to a great tragedy where literally hundreds of people were murdered painfully, including many, many children who had no opportunity to know anything but the deeply abusive world they were forced into and then killed before they could even imagine a way to escape

how surprising

this is literally what they're talking about though. "Being normal" is just being friendly. You don't need to immediately attack people because you somehow perceive yourself as under attack.

He got baited, but acting like it's not an awful, sneering comment that he's responding to is ridiculous. Are you that easy to manipulate with dogwater rhetorical tricks?

yikes! i'll message the band and let them know.

I'm normal. Except for a couple things, but other than that I'm normal.
