There is no dialogue for "do I tolerate another human being".

This is not about sports competition where you could at least manufacture some kind of perhaps argument - this is about telling other people how they should identify and feel.

It's one of the easiest examples for the axiom of tolerance that you're pushing. And my answer is: No. I don't need dialogue - these people need to be made ashamed and socially outcast just like other fascists . I will not develop tolerance for intolerance.

These ads are not targeted at Rowling. They are targeted at the mass of people, the ones who already feel that it seems wrong to escalate a topic that is so personal and rare in such a way but have a dissonance (see what I'm doing here?) between what "conservative" media and their own perception tells them.

What kind of "reasonable debate" would look like? Ask people to be a little bit less themselves? Bring back perhaps a little bit of chemical castration?

Steel sharpens steel is largely manosphere nonsense. Add the virtue signalling call out and you're halfway to a silence-the-folks-I-ostensibly-agree-with-via-criticism-of-their-tactics bingo.

If it were true that folks don't respond to pithy statements and emotionally driven discourse, politics would look like a bunch of Al Gores with competing powerpoints. It sure as hell does not.

Is this sign going to change the mind of a bigot? No. Might it signal to them that many folks are tired of hearing their bullshit? Yes, especially for the less virulent among them. Might it make a trans person riding the train in a society that increasingly feels like it's closing in to deny their very existence feel better and less alone? Abso-fucking-lutely.

Fascists telling me where it's acceptable to piss is emotionally driven, and it's bullshit that needs to be called out.

This ad isn't for those people. It's for people like me that see all the hate directed towards my community by mainstream media and billionaire personalities. It's for the people who are constantly told that their position in society is to be denigrated or become a punchline. It's for the boys and girls who never did anything wrong but fucking kill themselves over the bigoted views of their family and neighbours.

The people that this ad is targeting need to be told publicly that their behaviour is completely unacceptable. Otherwise they become emboldened and shit escalates. If somebody realizes that they fucked up and want to make amends, I'll welcome them with open arms. But until that time they're worse than the subhuman scum they make me out to be.

All of the manufactured outrage and rage bait that's been responsible for increased discrimination and violence against trans folks in recent years is immature, unreasonable, and emotionallby driven. It seems to work just fine for the transphobes.

Funny how it's only ever the victims of oppression that are told they need to settle down and resist only within arbitrary parameters.

Bullies require social pressure to cease their bullying. This is that pressure.
