We are a no-forced-cam shop. I've not seen my coworkers since we all worked somewhere else like 14 years ago. I have seen my new boss before, but also about twice a year for these three years when it's accidentally left on -- managers don't get union protection and it's advised to turn cams on. So no cats on cam unless I show off the cuddly cat and turn mine on.

Cuddly cat sleeps in a kallax cubby. Small cat sleeps on her single perch all the freaking day because she's lazy as hell. Doggie sleeps on the floor, checking on me occasionally in case I need help or a sheep should spawn and need herding.

The biggest danger is cuddly cat lives on the desk and has no concern where her feet go. She types a lot and is totally okay with this.

I do my work, I look out the window at the river and boats and trains and trucks and subway, sometimes I go up to L31 and the roof to look over the river from higher up, but in-between those breaks I just code my face off.

I will resist RTO with every core of my being.

Generally speaking, one of my cats is sleeping on the arm of my recliner (she does snore, but no one has complained yet); one of them is sleeping on my old dog's bed; and the last is sitting near her food bowl in the kitchen in case any wet food happens to respawn.

Honestly, I probably bother them more than they do me. At least during work calls.

Guy that sits next to me on his in office days was telling me yesterday his dog has learned the sound of an incoming Teams call and will come to the desk to get a treat bribe to stay quiet during the meeting.

Pavlov would be proud.

Cats see the camera and think, "I'm on!".

Personally, not at all. They're usually laying behind me (on this little stool thing they claimed), on the rug next to me, or on top of this plastic bin (full of blankets, but one didn't fit so I laid it on top, and now I feel bad moving it into the basement because they love it lol).

Sometimes they'll jump onto my lap, but they just curl up and lay down. Almost never have had an interruption from them

Sitting at your computer working or in a meeting and hearing you cat being up to no good in the background is the worst

I had a very rare Skype call with the big boss a few years ago and within the first four seconds my cat vomited loudly behind me. "Hello K.. Bwaaargachachach-ak-acc-squeltch."

I haven't telephoned with them since.

A few years ago on... SKYPE!?! Sound like you haven't talked to the big wig in a decade lol

Teams is just Skype with a thin layer of paint.

and a layer of poop

No, that was there before.

Is that Kitler?

A memelord needs to shop this onto figure skaters performing a spectacular routine to an Adele song performed by a string quartet soundtrack.

Yes, I'm aware memelords can only do the first part of that request. But just imagine the audio...

Edit: Celene would be dope too.

Well here is the second part of your request, at least:
