Ha, I remember screening Perfect Blue for some friends and feeling like this. I don't think they really liked it unfortunately, which is a shame. That movie is a masterpiece.

And this kinda thing is why I don't pick films, TV or music for groups anymore. That and far too often getting negative responses from others.

Well if it was a random pick then oh well, whatever. But otherwise then yeah -I find myself nitpicking more. Bc I’m vouching for it being worthy of our time, so it’s reflective on me. Plus I’m trying to gauge if my company is enjoying themselves.

Me too! I’ll pick lesser known films just to broaden horizons or see people’s reactions when they don’t know what to expect. It’s very much part of the fun😁
