The design of stage visually is horrendous. Like McDonald’s Golden Arches with purple construction paper backdrop, and the hilariously bland and tiny “US” in the back. It’s like everyone involved knows this is a sham, and they’re also incompetent. Who even wants this other than Trump (Does he actually want this even? Eros he even know what he wants ever?)
As a designer who occasionally comes across job postings for things like this (usually hidden behind at least one layer of anonymity so people don't spam the job postings), they either use AI to "get them 80% of the way there" and then a marketing person "finishes the design", or they get a designer who thinks it will be hilarious to take their money and do the worst job possible. Fields like this require empathy because you need to know what your audience is thinking, and how to appeal to them. It's why the official art style of this round of fascism is AI. No one who's actually good at their job wants to do it for them.
