If anything, because Canada still has a well funded public arts program, and because there is nothing more industry loves than labor and talent they don't have to train, we have imported about as much Canadian culture in the U.S. It's just that everything is so similar between the two places, especially as you move up into the northern states, that one could easily mistake it for 'Americanization'.

tbf this is a fairly normal combination of positions in countries with monarchies / part of the commonwealth. I know two people in my personal life who fit this archetype, they're just older David Cameron-esque socially progressive, fiscally conservative educated upper-middle class small c conservatives who believe in small government and reducing the power of the monarchy along with it.
