He may have been gay once, but that was the thetans talking, and since he went OT-10000+ clear, he has been above such things.
(In Scientology, being gay is a bad thing, largely because Hubbard wasn’t gay and any divergence from how he was is by definition a bad thing. And like all bad things, it’s caused by the ghosts of dead aliens who were blown up with H-bombs in volcanoes and then made to watch bad films for an eternity.)
