Jimmy Fallon not laughing now
I honestly forgot he was still on air
I dont get why people find it so hard to believe Colbert was cancelled because of ratings. The only time I hear people talk about the show is when someone complains about how much it sucks
it was the number one rated late night show. it was still abysmal ratings but since none of the others were cancelled, yeah it's hard to believe it was solely because of ratings. CBS is trying to suck up to trump so they probably concluded that "#1 late night show" was not worth the extra FCC and regulatory scrutiny.
although to be honest between the 5 depicted in this shitty cartoon, colbert was the worst. the second worst is probably jimmy kimmel but i have been watching jimmy kimmel's monologues recently (the rest of the show is ass), and to be honest it wasn't bad.
I would almost guarantee you that despite being the number one rated late show, it actively lost the company money with how large it's budget was. Colbert's contract alone probably made it not worth it.
It's not solely ratings, it's just, a dying genre of cable television (because advertising killed it) that is going to say it's final goodbyes as this format moves over to podcasts or online television.
Makes perfect sense for people so completely insulated that they are nearly totally unaffected by who's in charge and mistake their meaningless "comedy" slop for political intrigue
Stephen Colbert has officially abandoned democracy
Seems odd to me to have built democracy around a bunch of comedians but what do I know.
Bread and circuses.
Boomer libs actually believe this.
what the fuck this is so stupid lmao
You're all laughing but if you change "democracy" to liberal-thought then it's mostly true, they are the 5 pillars of libdom.
The most effective way to deliver politics to americans is through comedy, which is basically why Chapo worked.
Hasan in a way is doing the same shtick but he's not as funny, more ranty.
Someone should edit this and put Hasan in the gap
Who are the three guys to Stewart's right?
I think it's John Oliver, Seth Meyers, and Jimmy Kimmel.
You must be right. But to me they still look like a fat Josh Shapiro, a JFK impersonator, and Ahmadinejad.
I also saw Mahmoud
Or character actor Rick Hoffman
holy fuck what
Comedy is illegal now. Do better hexbear
Why is Josh Shapiro abandoning Jared from Subway and one of the lesser Kennedys?
Didn't Phil Hartman die a long time ago?
early 90s iirc
Yeah I know I was making a joke about Colbert looking uncannily like him.
I think I would have started with the nice filigree, gotten as far as the nice filigree, and then stopped because it's a bad idea. I would go back to drawing Garfield crucifying himself because that is a better idea.
We need a rally to restore ~~Sanity~~ Democracy. And there is one man for the job.
I just learned that it's supposed to Be Colbert, Jon Stewart, and Jimmy Kimmel from right to left, but I have no clue who the others are. Also, our whole society deserved to collapse if late night tv hosts are the only thing holding it up
but I have no clue who the others are.
consider yourself lucky
This is just The Larry Sanders Show distilled into a single image
I'm going to (don't make jokes about self-harm) hurt other people
