What annoys me is that these people are always 1 step removed. Why would I not just create a "fake" social media page if not having social media is seen as an indication of crime?
Ultimately you just end up with a reactionary front, used for survival and perhaps a genuine person internally that you just don't show to anyone.
1984 is really outdated for it's time of release, once you start questioning the world. People were debating similar kind of shit with similar amount of depth thousands of years ago.
