From the article

The Pentagon has denied any suggestions of food shortages on board ships and did not comment on the new pictures, directing Newsweek to a series of posts by the U.S. Navy's Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, including one that said: "Recent reports alleging food shortages and poor quality aboard our deployed ships are false."

As an aside, I feel like I've been seeing more from Newsweek.

I feel like I remember that name from my childhood, but I guess I sort of assumed they folded years ago.

They volunteered to join

The pentagon, releasing their own photos next week: behold our delicious and nourishing Potemkin vittles

I thought they were going to show a picture of an MRE.

MREs are field supply rations, ie, to places you can’t get logistics. The navy is logistics, therefore, they don’t ship out with MREs. Iirc. I wasn’t in the navy.

Edit: it’s mentioned in this Video when I’m work awake I’ll find the exact place.

It's not like we're out of food, Krasnov is just stingy
