What the fuck is this?
What the fuck is wrong with just saying email? It's been around for decades.
If someone said to me "Could you crack a Linux" I would walk away slowly and avoid eye contact.
Instead, lets simplify: Search, Message, Email, Video Call... wtf is the last one
installing apps instead of sIdEloADing please
Using snap or Flatpack?
fuck snaps, flatpak is my bae.
Hush! Behave you subversive element! Only evil people won't use official appstores!
Gotta go home and crack a few linuxes
Linuces
Linopodes
Not Linuxi?
Linuxen.
Silly me, I forgot the grammatical plural of Linux. Damn it.
Had me going until "Could you crack a Linux?"
Proton Meet? lol
Cups and string ftw
This is a joke... right? Right?
Judging by the last part... yeah. But also, there is something to it.
Has to be...right?
I mean if you're not serious enough, sure /jk
as som have mentioned. I call email, email. And I call video conferencing video conferencing and would say hop on a conference call or just call. I mean many people dial in. Video is just standard now but they used to be done with just phones. I usually say the message app used as at a workplace its whatever they use. Open some windows is talking about gui windows not ms windows. I don't get the alternative thing at all. Its like that thing with ms not being able to trademark windows because windows is a common word. you say windows don't let ms own that trump. I do say google sometimes for search and that is bad but I often say search or look it up. I just need to stop saying google sometimes.
Do people not know how to say "this is my email address" anymore?
Yeah, language doesn't work like that.
Its been so hard to stop saying google it but im getting there, they really got us good with their branding brain worm
At the same time, Google hates people using their name generically for web searching because it risks them losing the trademark.
So I guess I am conflicted, because I hate to acknowledge Google more than I need to, but would love to see the term become meaningless.
I use DuckDuckGo but say Google for this exact reason. If I'm talking to someone I actually like I usually elaborate to say "Google isn't the search engine I actually use because it's sus, but you know what I mean"
"Could you DuckDuckGo that for me?" just doesn't work the same.
"Hey, can you Duck around and find out?"
That really needs to be their next PR campaign.
