Elon is responsible for 2 good ideas. Payment encryption when he was part of PayPal and using an electric car company to sell carbon offsets. The carbon offsets for businesses is where the money and valuation for Tesla comes from and literally no one else is positioned (outside of China) to take advantage of European and North American tax credits like Tesla.
SpaceX Internet is an interesting idea but not a good one. Otherwise I fully agree with you that Elon is creatively bankrupt and just a liability now.
