Quiet revolution, Québec

I guess the downfall of the Soviet Union doesn't count because that was the "wrong" kind of revolution?

It wasn't a revolution, it was a coup, and further it was anything but non-violent. An estimated 7 million people died around the world because of the sheer economic devastation and destruction of relied-upon safety nets.

The coup was what tried to restore the old order that had just broken down on account of its own corruption and incompetence. And asking for sources on that claim of seven million dead would be bourgeois decadence, amirite?

You know, it's actually easier and safer to move through life not acting like a snide 12 year old when you don't know something. Not everyone is going to be as patient with your smug ignorance as Cowbee here.

The urgerman urge to be at least as arrogant as ignorant

Nah, the coup was from the Yeltsin faction. The hardliners tried to save the union but failed to stop the coup. Here's the source on the 7 million dead, it's pretty common knowledge. Don't know why you think sources are "bourgeois decadence."

Czechoslovakia 1989

Chile, 1971.

Too bad about Kissinger and September 11th, 1973.

Poland, Hungary, East Germany, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, ...

Rising inequality and lowering life expectancy and rising death rates aren't nonviolent. It's actually incredibly violent, it's just that we in the West have decided that poor people deserve the violence that is inflicted on them by the market.

"but,but,but" lol

What's going on in your imagination.. Nothing of this happened here in east Germany. People are now able to travel freely and consume the media they want. Institutional mutual surveillance and denunciation came to an end.

Moscow and their devotees just did it wrong all along.

oh du süßes sommerkind. Wo sind denn die ganzen arbeitsplätze hin? Warum ist der Osten so hart nach rechts gerückt wie konnt das nur passieren??

Rising inequality and lowering life expectancy and rising death rates

😀👍

East Germany was an exception because they were reunited with a wealthy Western partner that could absorb the shock, and this was done specifically to create people like you who would think the end of the USSR was a good thing. The rest of the former Soviet bloc didn't have anything like that, and so life expectancy fell and death rates rose. It took over a decade to recover, and even today they still lag behind the rest of Europe.

Pretty sure OP is talking about revolutions that establish a dictatorship, not overthrow it lol

Obviously.
