Man, I thought I couldn't agree harder than the audiophile meme a few minutes ago. I was wrong.

Breedpilled kidmaxxer or however they call it now

Ahh to choose the spawnmogged sterilecel life… I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Getting offspringmogged by a serial reproducer

Parents bragging about their kids is really sweet actually. Just as long as its about each kid individually and not like some weird collectors complex

"I orgasmed in my wife seven times!"

"we're going for a boy this time around! Fingers crossed!"

That shit always makes me think of card collecting or something.

This is our second; Nat.

Natural 1.

I hope you roll a shiny :D

Me too! I considered weighing my wife before opening because I heard the rare ones have a slightly heavier weight. But she got really mad when I suggested that so I guess I'll just play it fair and see what happens in 9 months.

The implicstion with a shiny would be that she cheated.

Not worth bragging when you only do the easy (and fun) part of making children....

If they are actively going for a 4th, then he's done something right. Raising 3 kids, with an unhelpful husband would be enough to put most women off having a 4th. Hell, even with a helpful husband!

Andrea Yates would beg to differ.

Don't have any kids, never wanted kids, zero regrets.

No no, go ahead and brag a little. It makes both of us happier about our different life choices.

Shoulda told him "Way to go, you and your wife have now doubled your replacement value. Now unless you're planning on losing half of them to plague, famine, and war, you're literally contributing to doubling the population density."

Don't worry about what will happen next, just keep going.

Totally agree. Glad I'm not happy and proud with my life, my relationship and the choices I've made.

Someone else being happy with their life isn’t a condemnation on yours.

Four kids and a husband sounds like a nightmare to me as well, but the father clearly is happy about it. And that’s ok.

Although the remark about bragging suggests that this guy is unaware of the existence of other standards, which is something he can be legitimately mocked for.

It was an attempt to be polite because he was expressing extreme happiness for himself and that can be taken as selfish in this type of social interaction.

Lol you don't need to have kids to be happy/successful and proud of your life.

You do if you have nothing to feel happy or successful about.

People really misunderstood this comment. Yikes.

My sarcasm wasn't as apparent as I had hoped.

Children aren't and shouldn't be responsible for making their parents happy.

That was my point. People with nothing to be happy about often use their children as substitutes.

Oh, you're simply shitting on parents because they decided to become parents. Got it.

No, I'm shitting on parents who had kids because they thought the kids would fix their problems.

Dazharion

Lol you don’t need to have kids to be happy/successful and proud of your life.

You do if you have nothing to feel happy or successful about.

Reading comprehension is just fucking gone these days, isn't it?

Classic false dichotomy

I guess the sarcasm wasn't as apparent as I thought it would be.

Why are you taking offense to someone saying your lifestyle sounds terrible to them? They're not saying you must be unhappy, just that they don't want to live that way.

I don't want kids, and I'm sure those with kids that they wanted are very happy, and I'm glad there are people for whom that is a happy life because it wouldn't be to me.

Gotta edit my comment to say I was totally being autistic and completely missed your joke on the first pass, my bad!

The remark about bragging suggests that this guy is unaware of the existence of other standards, which is something he can be legitimately mocked for.

I'm not taking offense. It sounded to me like the guy in this image was taking offense. I was asking the same questions, you're asking me now. "Why would you take offense to someone saying they're happy?" Clearly I'm the only one interpeting it that way

I really don't understand your phrasing of your original comment then because it was really coming off as passive aggression

I don't know if the original person in the picture meant it that way, but I do know that this meme is frequently used to start an antinatalist circle jerk, so I support you coming out swinging.

The antinatalists and the childfree don't need much to make themselves the victims in comment sections tbf

Really hoping I didn't come across as an antinatalist because I fucking hate antinatalists. They're the dumbest fucking people.

Nah you’re good. Your other comment acknowledged that having kids makes some people happy even if it wouldn’t make you happy.

Anti-natalists really are the worst at respecting other people’s choices.

Haha thanks for the heads up. No regerts XD

Yeah I don't think the guy in the image was taking offense, it was just a funny response to the father apologizing for being so happy.

It’s a question of figuring out who and what you are. What defines you and gives you purpose as an individual vs tryimg to stuff all of that into a role that leans heavily on another human being doing that for you.

Oof, triggered?

They’re trying to convince themselves more than us.
