"The hour's top story, our glorious freedom fight in Iran is going well, and Dear Leader's bravery will bring peace everywhere!" -- The Media, probably
Now watch as Warren does nothing that stops it from happening.
I was under the impression that Trump launched this war to have a pretense to give money to the weapons industry. Because more weapons -> higher profit -> higher stock valuations, and as we all know, Everything's Fine as long as the Dow Jones is over 50k.
Like, literally anything that happens makes the economy go up, as long as anything happens at all. When you build schools, the economy goes up, because somebody has to build these schools. When you build rail network, economy goes up. When you start a war and produce lots of weapons, economy goes up.
I wonder why the economy is always made to go up in ways that hurt people, instead of ways that, you know, actually help people.
Trump launched this war to have a pretense to give money to the weapons industry
Lol, like any US president needs justification for that ever. I mean it's a geopolitical event and the military-industrial complex certainly is one of the major lobby groups pushing for this (or any) confrontation, not disputing that.
But the immediate reason for Trump seems to be the (seemingly working) distraction from the escalating Epstein scandal. He already learned that war and the resulting market volatility is a great way to "flood the zone with shit" when he attacked Iran last year, and that being his primary objective also neatly accounts for the apparent lack of an exit strategy and clearly defined war goals.
Again, not saying it's the only reason why this war is happening in general, but probably the main one to Trump anyway. Which Warren seems to be confirming with her testimony here, saying there is simply no coherent reason presented for it even under secrecy.
Imagine giving standing applause to your political opponent for genociding millions for overthrowing the evil regime (tm) only to be desperately less down when you find out that he's gonna fuck it up as usual.
At this point it might be better if the US goes in without a plan as having one didn't seem to work out the last 50+ military conflicts.
The story keeps changing because they don't want to admit that this was done to touch off Armageddon, and bring on The Rapture. The soldiers were specifically told that by their commander. The reason is literally "because God told us to."
At least 200 soldiers have filed formal complaints.
Do you have a source for that quote? I would like to send it to some people.
There's a huge number of articles about it

We need better numbers.
Sen. Angus King, the independent from Maine, said it’s “very disturbing” that Trump took the U.S. to war because Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wanted to bomb Iran. Past U.S. presidents, he said, “have consistently said, ‘No.’”
"Busy droning children, maybe later.”

Feel Clean, Vote Green/s
Things are looking up... for Iran.
I am not asking for much, I just want the US to lose to Iran even more decisively and quickly than it lost to Afghanistan, and for Tel Aviv to look like Rafah today.

Yes. The name is taken from this poem https://www.diwanalarab.com/%D9%84%D9%8A%D8%AA%D9%86%D9%8A-%D9%83%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A-%D8%B4%D9%85%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%8A.html
Actually that’s pretty much what we thought, but it’s good to get a second opinion from someone on the inside.
basically yeah
"You are right to be worried, the Trump administration has no plan in Iran," Warren said
Ah, so it's much better than I thought on one side.
Question is, how much of a plan does Iran have?
Seems like they've been preparing for this for a long while.
I mean, how many empires have passed through Persia, through that area? How many conflicts has that civilization endured? I’m not trying to hype myself up but, like, Iranians are fighting in home turf with thousands of years of military knowledge of their own terrain, against a hegemon that’s mobilized from half way across the globe. They must have something up their sleevse
The hubris of the burger reich is truly astounding. They really think they can just waltz in and destroy a whole civilization that's thousands of years old.
I always think about the millennium challenge where the USA Armed forces came together to run a test, the USA's military vs Iran, and Iran decimated the USA so much they had to stop the test, change the rules son the USA has to win, and then declared victory for the USA
This is more than 20 years ago. Things could be better now, or even worse given the current administration. My biases lean toward worse.
When you think about it, the U.S. Armed Forces really is just a big casino you can bleed for money
I think the nastier stuff won't happen until Iran is in a really bad situation. Maybe they could fire an advanced missile and strike Israel's Dimona nuclear facility or carry out drone attacks inside the US. It's easy to sneak drones around and assemble them, so I think we can expect attacks far away from the battlefield.
One thing I'll disagree with is this idea that sleeper cells will appear from no-where and massacre people at bars and nightclubs. It doesn't seem like it's Iran's style - they'd rather hit a military base with a drone.
Remember that while Iran's command structure is ruined, they can still command operations globally through their intelligence officers.
Shades of "John Kerry would have done the Iraq war right!"
You mean the guy who was Defense Secretary when the JCPOA (Iran nuclear deal) was struck? The guy who explicitly avoided a war?
by not doing it?
The plan is civil war and failed state
I was under the impression that he declared war on brown people with no fucking plan whatsoever because he's racist, under the false impression that being at war means he can stay in office no matter what (despite his entire life being filled with counterexamples), and him trying to distract from his close ties with and probable crimes as a child rapist.
I actually don't know how it could be worse
under the false impression that being at war means he can stay in office no matter what (despite his entire life being filled with counterexamples)
Tbf it's working for Netanyahu
Maybe our losses are much worse than we currently know
One can only hope
Under the U.S. Constitution, it’s up to Congress, not the president, to decide when the country goes to war. —Sen. Brian Schatz of Hawaii
It's already obvious they don't need congress to tell them what to do. These laws and constitutions are meant to control the rest of us, it does not apply to them. The sooner you understand this, the more their actions start to make sense.
Lol I assure you tankie tanuki understands that
I don't want a fucking plan I want this hell state to not kill people
What if we only kill non-rich people?
Good thing you clapped at Trump’s war speech you dumb fuck
all of those people dead for literally no reason. like a wise man once said, the crimes of this guilty land will never be purged away but with blood
That's not wisdom, it's violence.
An eye for an eye makes the world blind.
Yes, the evil pedophile cabal will absolutely be defeated by voting harder
He then went on to be a Reservoir Dog, but was killed by a cop. Rest in power Mr Brown.
Iran will target Israeli nuclear site if Israel and US seek regime change, military official says

Iran will target Israeli nuclear site of Dimona if Israel and the U.S. seek regime change, the Iranian semi-official ISNA news agency reported, citing an Iranian military official said.

Good thing Congress acted swiftly to prevent the executive branch from unilaterally starting a war.
What did you think I was expecting, Elizabeth Warren?
"Wow, are you going to give further details?"
"Then we might have to actually do something, so... no. But hey, elections are coming up! Maybe we can form a committee to look into it in the next ten to sixteen months if we win."
Hey, friendly reminder that this bitch voted for Marco Rubio right along with everyone else in the Senate.
They're all compromised...all of them.
Please don’t use that sexist insult.
Sen. Angus King, the independent from Maine, said it’s “very disturbing” that Trump took the U.S. to war because Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wanted to bomb Iran. Past U.S. presidents, he said, “have consistently said, ‘No.’” Sen. Brian Schatz of Hawaii said the briefing left him with more questions than answers... While presidents have the authority as the commander in chief to conduct certain strategic military operations on their own, the Constitution vests Congress with the power to wage war. Before the Iraq War began in March 2003, Republican President George W. Bush made a monthslong push to secure congressional authorization. No such vote was attempted on Iran, and an earlier Senate effort to halt Trump’s actions after last summer’s strike on Iran failed.
USA is a failed state
monthslong
That's a slong a month long. Is it missing a hyphen?
I am a simple man, I see Elizabeth Warren I post
I wonder if that letter to the CIA from senator wyden was related to this quagmire
It always is, Liz.
It always is.
