There is something so...I'm not sure if I have the words to describe it about that bookshelf. Sad maybe? All those books put on display, never read, any knowledge they could potentially contain will never be known, just used as a prop to emulate knowledge and intelligence. It's pathetic, these people are so proud of their ignorance, but so envious of people who actually know things, and pretend to be them while trying to do everything in their power to destroy them.
and I know these particular books are probably almost all right wing drivel, but that in itself is kind of sad. These people write books and purchase books as a status symbol, as a virtue signal even, to just put on display, not to reach people or teach people, not to make people feel anything, solely there to reassure themselves and their ilk that they aren't the pathetic sad sacks that they are in reality.
I weep for the potential lost in these people, they could've been someone, they could've loved others, they could've taught others, had unforgettable experiences with others, instead they are all hollow empty shells of human beings, only interested in money and power.

It's pretty usual for humans not to be perfectly symmetrical, even outside of the actually asymmetrical stuff like heart and liver location. Apparently our feet are often different by up to half a shoe size.
Probably most people wouldn't have different enough sized hands to not be able to swap but I would be willing to bet your situation isn't particularly unusual.
