Always remember: jump is a broken way to dodge many attacks, but it's also very visually inconsistent

I don't envy From's task of having to make tough, fair, and interesting bosses for the people who have regularly played souls games for more than a decade now.

Thats why they probably leave the best bossess to the "not required to win the game" areas

I know. I feel like we've all gotten too good at these games now. Everyone knows what stats to pick and has a lot of practice dodge-rolling.

I had the most fun when the games felt impossible because I didn't know what I was doing.

I like their shake ups like Sekiro and Bloodborne, that were different enough to be challenging.

I installed the Elden Ring Reforged mod so I could play it with some sekiro mechanics lol.

Maybe that's why Sekiro has remained my favorite and most replayed.

I'm holding out hope that the Sekiro anime will stir up some pressure for a new game.

Sekiro remains my favorite almost solely because of the lack of a stamina meter. It increases the speed of the game a ton, and it's very cool to have a 30 second back and forth wild swordfight with someone instead of roll-roll-roll-R1-roll-roll. You just can't do that in other Fromsoft games.

You will have the privilege of pressing R1 once every thirty seconds and you will like it.

10/10 masterclass. Miyazaki cooked again. Hopefully there is no poison swamp

Pro Tipp:

Weapon arts can dodge incoming attacks while ending with damage on the boss.

Never wondered why those animations are so elaborate?

Backhand blade go brrrrr

Backhand blade go brrrrr

not an exaggeration, that's just the dlc's final boss.

gotta parry them and make your own openings :P so much easier that way. (still lots of dodging, running, strafing ...)

My friend spent like 10 hours perfecting parrying to finally clear the dlc boss.

I got a big shield and the antspur rapier. Took about 5 minutes. Poke, poke, poke.

And you need so much fuckin' poise to not be stunned out of everything in ER. If it's under 55, IIRC, you might as well not even bother.

51, but there's a substantial degree to which it depends on your weapon too. A lot of heavier weapon classes make you far harder to flinch when you wield with both hands and attack, and colossal weapons do it even one-handed, so those classes of weapons are the ones that allow you to trade hits most often

That's a big part of why I stopped playing, honestly. Waiting two years for a window to attack, just to use light attack once before waiting another two years- then if I get hit by the lightest tickle, I just fall to the ground and am instantly punished. So boring compared to DS imo.
